Calling Canadians!

Hi there!
I am heading to Toronto for a week of fun and frolic in August and would like to know what you (or anyone who has been to that city) recommends making sure I see, the Can't Miss sites. We can rent a car if necessary. Someone mentioned to me about islands in Lake Ontario?? I am really excited about this trip, and want to make sure I see AND EAT great places and things! I will accept any and all recommendations! THANKS!

If you are a Saturday Night Live or sketch comedy in general fan, be sure to visit The Second City.

Well it all really depends on what you want to do....

If your going for the tourist site-seeing approach:
Sports-
Hockey Hall of Fame (the most holy of holy to hockey fans)
Blue Jays game / Argos Game at Skydome (cheap as hell right now)

Shopping-
(all of these should cover anything you could possibly want)
Kengsington Market
Queen St West
Yonge Street between Bloor and Queen
Eaton Centre

Sites-
University of Toronto / YorkVille
CN Tower
Royal Ontario Museum / Art Gallery Ontario
Toronto Islands (spend the day)

Food/Pub-
Madison Pub (upscale pub in the heart of Frat land UofT)
other than that let your tastes guide you... to many to list

Clubs-
Ye Olde Brunswick House (125 years + beerhall/club that has catered to UofT students - Frat/Sor fav.)
The Pheonix
The Docks
Money
-once again depending on what you want, there is a huge club scene in TO

A website you might look at is www.toronto.com it should help to.

I really appreciate those threads!!!!! I will check all of that out. I am really interested in going to the islands. I also want to (if my travelmates are into it) go to the amusement park, Wonderland....

I went to the Toronto Islands a couple of years ago during Caribana and had a wonderful time.
