Talking What would YOU ask?

I am interviewing Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth in a couple of weeks. If you could ask them one question, what would it be?

I am curious what kinds of things people are interested in knowing.

I do not know much about these guys, but I have a few generic questions that could be asked.

How does it feel to be a rock star?

Did you ever think that you would become as famous as you are today?

How does your family deal with your stardom?

How did you learn how to play guitar so well?

Has music always been in your heart, or is music something that just happened?

I would ask Sammy how difficult it was (or if it was at all) to fill David's shoes-did it seem that the fans accepted him rt. away?

I also want to know if David can still do the splits

I would ask each of them which song from the other's era of Van Halen they wished they had been able to do...

Like does Diamond Dave wish he'd been a part of Right Here Right now?

Does Sammy wish he'd done Hot for Teacher?

I wrote an article on the tour today for my job. But we're small potatoes, lol, no interviewing of the guys for me! LOL

I would ask Dave what the relationship is now with eddie and the rest of the vanhalen group? apparently there is no issues with him and sammy( the one who replaced him) , but i am curious what kind of relationship they both have with the rest of Van Halen members?????

What was Eddie Van Halen's wife like in bed? When he got caught and as a result left the band, his success was pretty much over. Does he regret it? Would he do it again?

Here's a couple of questions I'd ask:

what was the most recent cd they bought and why

which bands would they pay to go see

Good luck with the interviews.

I would first try to see if you could find other interviews with them and cross those questions off the list. I always hear stars complain that they get asked the same questions all the time and how boring it is.

volgirl2376: I understand that complaint. But we can't report information from someone else's interview--that's why journalists are forced to ask at least *some* of the same old questions. It gets boring for us too because we *have* read all the other stuff and *do* know most of the answers. I think that is why you often get the sense that both interviewer and interviewee are just going through the motions, which is a shame.

It is important to delve deeper, of course. That is why I was curious to see what people were interested in knowing about them. I kind of like the wackier ones (AggieAXO: I am still laughing about yours, but think it's a sassy question that just might be fun to ask DLR). Neither of these two take themselves too seriously, which is cool. DLR is a pretty crazy dude--bound to be quote-worthy.
