I really think they need to stop screwing with MnM colors. The funky colors only belong in the holiday packs. The new colors don't really mesh well with the old ones, either.

It is purple! My 8 yr old brother watched the live broadcast. I was rooting for pink also. But like you said, they all taste the same.

Well, I think they crapped it up when they decided to add to red, yellow, green, orange, and the 2 browns. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
I have the same opinion about Trix. Red, yellow, and orange were fine by themselves!

After 9/11, M&M made some special ones for the red cross. They were Red, White, and Blue M&M's (sorry, no white fonts here) . I thought that was cool combination, except white doesn't exist anywhere else. They should add that one instead of this new purple one. Then again, the other choices weren't that great anyway. I miss the light brown ones too.
I'm hungry...

If you go to www.mms.com you can get custom mixes of M&Ms. They have premade mixes, or you can add your own. Funny story about that actually...
For Valentine's day, my boyfriend decided to do the custom M&Ms for me. He didn't see the premade Valentine mix, so he did his own. Dark Pink, Light Pink, White and Red. Each color comes in an 8 oz bag. For some reason he thought that an 8oz bag is the size you get in the grocery checkout, so it didn't seem too bad to have 4 of them. He didn't stop to think that 16 oz = 1 lb. Four 8oz bags = 2 POUNDS of M&Ms. Thankfully, he knew better than to give them to me all at once. They would have found me weighing 400 lbs, passed out in a pool of melted chocolate on my bed!
I really hope purple won. I was pissed when Blue beat it out last time. I don't like blue food. its just not right

Thanks, I didn't know this. We always got M&Ms for rush and picked out the red, yellow, and green ones to serve. It would probably be a lot easier to just buy them that way.

I feel you on that one...same with Froot Loops. Who in the world decided that green and blue Froot Loops were a positive thing??

Come on guys stop being so conservative.
I'm hyped about the blue and purple M&Ms. I wonder what will be next? fushia? white? orange? black?
I'm with sigmagrrl, because of the blue M&Ms it's now a chapter tradition to give our littles blue and gold(yellow) M&Ms in a jar or something. Cheap, but yummy gift for littles.

LMAO!! Too funny...
I'm glad purple won. It's my all time favorite color. I wont be buying m&m's because of this though because I don't like chocolate. I can almost hear the gasps...

Amen!
Dear M&M Corporate folks: Pastels don't go with primary colors. And besides, how many times can you pull the "new color" publicity stunt before we, the public, get bored? What's next, voting colors off? Sincerely, A Chocolate Lover
