Undercover Brotha

Does anyone plan to see this movie starring Eddie Griffin?

My answer is a resounding hhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllll naw!!! There is just something about Eddie Griffin that makes my skin crawl. On the annoyance level, he's up there with Rick Fox, Wesley Snipes and Alicia Keys.

Why, pray tell, is Rick Fox annoying?

I also don't think that I will watch this movie, although I enjoyed Eddie Griffin in John Q, with his "slapaho tribe" crack. It seems aimed at teens and 20-somethings. I'm creeping toward 40.

Isn't Rick Fox the one married to Vanessa Williams? If so, I am glad that he cut that hair off!

I feel you Bamboozled....Alecia keys is annoying

Steeltrap, from reading your posts, I know that you are an avid Lakers fan and so am I. So, while I love me some Lakers, there is just something about Rick that ain't quite right. I don't know if it was the floppy hair stage or what did it, but I just can't stand the man.

Ulric Alexander Fox (his full name) did look strange with the Samson do, I'll admit. As a side note, I also dislike Lil' Bow Wow's hair -- mainly because I can't get mine to grow that long naturally. LOL.

Soror - it's Rick Fox's hiked-up bootie that gets on my nerves. He looks A LOT better now that that hair is gone. At first, his bald head kind of grossed me out, but now he's got a little shadow happening and it looks a little better. I love me some Lakers though. I don't know what's up with the team's barber - they shouldn't have cut Kobe's hair. I like it better with the full fro.

Am I going to see Undercover Brotha - - heeellllll naaaaaawww.

Soror, I like Kobe w/short hair, even though I love me some bro: diesel.
Kobe even looked good bald, although he was only 18 or 19 years old when he was sporting that do.
Rick actually looks better w/a slight shadow. The bald look was unnerving, and I read about Sasha (his daughter w/Vanessa) getting scared of her daddy's new do.

Red face

I just have a basic rule about supporting anything that is remotely reminiscent of the Blaxploitation period. For the 1970s it may have been cool (although I personally don't care for the suggestive messages made), but we are in the new millineum and that slapstick and unintelligible mess is just out. Amidst my dismay and non-support of such intellectually disadvantaged forms of comedy...somebody out there is supporting this mess. Because a movie simply ain't getting made if there isn't an audience.

Second, I just don't like Eddie Griffith...he's too up in the clouds for me, if you get my drift. My favorite comedians have something to say: Chris Rock, Chris Tucker, Steve Harvey, Cedric "The Entertainer", Eddie Murphy (his movies, not the standup), and Bernie Mac. Eddie just doesn't have any substantive things to make me want to listen, nor see him.
