Academic Departments' Rush!

The thread about the Sigma Pi cheer reminded me of this...


When I was an undergrad, someone wrote a tongue-in-cheek article for the Arkansas paper that said that since most freshmen come to school not knowing what to major in, the departments should have rush. He said, "Picture this!"

The professors in the English Department could stand out in front of their classroom building going, 'Hey hey hey hey!' as the freshmen enter. Then they could break into the departmental cheer--

'Drink beer! Drink beer! Drink beer, gadzooks, drink beer!
I won't drink beer with any old man who won't drink beer with a medieval lit man!
Go To hell! Oddsbodkins!'

Then you would have dirty rush, where professors might say, "No, you don't want to pledge entomology, they're a bunch of wimps."

I laughed until I was sick when I read that and people on campus had a good time all year writing in more ideas about what "Departmental Rush" would be like! Do any of you have any ideas about what a great rush for each department would be like?
