Post Initiation Number

Does anyone know who I would talk to at Nationals to find out my initiation number? As far as I know, I have never known what it is but we all have them, don't we? Thanks for any help!

Tracy

PS I have heard that some chapters have it engraved on the backs of their pins, but we didn't do that. Do any of you?

Cool

KillarneyRose,

Delta Zeta's national policy is to not assign initiation numbers to new sisters. I believe the reasoning behind the policy is that they want us all to be looked at equally, so that "older" sisters are not treated any differently than new initiates during their time spent as collegiates.

I'm sure for record-keeping purposes that there is a file with such numbers at Headquarters. But Delta Zeta just doesn't publicize them like other GLO's do. Sorry if this isn't explained in the best way. I'm a little scatter-brained today. Work is hectic!

Wink

Your member number is printed on the address label of the Lamp. It is the same number that you use to access the sister's only section on the national website too. If you don't have a Lamp on hand it can also be found on your bill from headquarters.
In my chapter we had to write it on all of our checks to nationals.
Hope this helps.

That's interesting to hear that other chapters use initiation numbers! I guess procedures vary from school to school. Like I said earlier, I was always told that DZ didn't publicize the numbers, and our chapter never questioned the issue.

at my chapter...

here at my chapter (and at every chapter on campus, except AST) we have scroll numbers ~~ it's a chapter number that is assigned by alphabetical order of pledge class - my number is #391, my littles are 401, and 403 (two different classes) sometimes we just sign things with numbers in order to let a sister know someone is thinking about her
