Interlocking?

Recently I went back to my alma mata on business. So I decided to drop by the plot see if any bruhs were out there. I ran into some neo from SPR 02. I was impressed with the fact that they knew who I was and treated me like "ol Skool". Anyways when I asked if they were tight with the other area chapters like we were, they said Some what. While going through their process they came across a chapter who's pledges were locked up with some AKA pledges. Now you KNOW I love my AKA sisters but do you think a pledge process shuold involve interlocking?

Disclaimer: There is a difference between having a joint session
and locking up together.

Whoa. I'll be the first to say that I don't like that idea. Zetas and Sigmas, okay. But um... that doesn't appeal to me. I love, love, LOVE the Alphas on my campus. We refer to each other as frat and soror, support each other, and kick it on the regular. I didn't have Alpha sands, so we never did the joint session thing but I think MAYBE that's acceptable if it's done the right way. I'm not even quite sure how I feel about that - what is the point of me spitting my history at you when it's not something we share? If I misquote an obscure date or leave out a piece of little-known info, will you know? Probably not. I think it's okay for us to be involved in each other's process JUST ENOUGH so that relationships are fostered. Oh yeah.. if you're going to be locked up with other people, doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of the experience? It was understood that rule number one is not to let ANYONE BREAK YOUR LINE. Anyway, if we HAD had Alpha sands, I'm sure we would have become close regardless... I don't need to be locked up with you for us to be cool!

Wink

I will not speak on my process but I have a VERY CLOSE relationship with my AKA sands. I will say this, interlocking with Ivys and Sphinxmen have been going on longer than many people know! I am for it as long as it is not a regular thing....maybe once is cool but you are not pledging AKA if you are a Sphinxmen. Alpha and AKA have a long history including many joint conventions. I have also seen Pyramids lock up with Lamps and Cresents lock up with AC's But on some campuses AKAs pledge Zeta pledges and Ques Pledge Scrollers and Stuff! *Hurricane Voice* "WHATS UP WITH THAT!"

I'm sooo feeling you, Dexter! Please yall, quiet as kept, quiet as kept up in here!

To answer the question: as much as I love my Alpha brothers, was taught to love and respect yall and taught the same, I pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., ONLY, and wouldn't have considered locking up with ANYONE other than my ship!!!

Cool I don't think so.

Like Sweetest said: Sigmas and Zetas-yeah; anybody else-naw. I think people should handle their own business.

I don't mind joint sets, and learning joint history. There is a purpose. Many think that the only bond between Omega's and Delta's is Coleman Luv.
I think it really depends on the region you crossed in. In some areas it is common practice the Delta's and Que's see each other lines at least and if this doesn't happen you are considered suspect. I also know that they have sets together and have locked up together.
But I know some areas where this would never happen. I was told by one Bruh what happens in an Omega set is Omega business. Although we are still bonded together, only Omega should see what happens in an Omega Set.
