Delta chapter pin on Ebay

Hey,
Has anyone else seen the Delta chapter pin on Ebay?

There is a 14 pearl badge with Delta chapter guard. The photo of the back of the badge reveals it was from the Univ. of Minnisota and the owner was initiated 10/20/56...i think????

The auctioner is asking $152.50 for it!!!!!!!

I saw that. Julie was the 1st to bid. When she said she was an AGD, I dropped out. Hope an AGD gets it!

Currently the bid is at $162.50! Luckily, the bidder is name "epsilonpi" so it's pretty safe to say that it's an Alpha Gam.

Unhappy

When a Badge is found on EBAY we are to notify IHQ so they can have it removed from auction. If you really want an older Badge, they are available at IHQ and you do not have to bid on it.

how do you inquire about them at IHQ

Just curious as to how to inquire about the old badges at IHQ? Anyone know?

Hi Amy!

I do! I picked up a crown pearl badge with diamond via IHQ.

Contact Betsy Helber

The e-mail address she has on the website is bhelber@alphagammadelta.org

but I've had more luck keeping in touch with her via her home e-mail which is
betsagd@aol.com

They offer the badges at the same price found in the BP catalog for new ones. You tell her what style you'd like... and if you have any other preferences... like the year... or chapter the member was from.. or if you want one with nothing on the back.

I just asked for the oldest one available in the style I was looking for and now am the proud wearer of a badge that belonged to a sister from the University of Washington... initiated in 1917.

Once you select one, she has it sent to BP to be reconditioned... cleaned... clasp checked to make sure it works.

I love mine! It's beautiful... and I love that it has a past

Loyally,
Mai Ly

Delta Pin on Ebay

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that the person who got the Delta pin was in fact and Alpha Gam....It was me! I do want to say sorry to Julie though. If I had known you were an Alpha Gam I wouldnt have bid on it!! Sorry!

I also wanted to let my sisters know that I email IHQ everytime a badge or any other historical piece goes on ebay. They sent me a letter to send to the sellers and to the ebay admin letting them know that they are property of AGD and shouldnt be sold! Ebay basically told them they dont care! So...I make a point to try to by pins and historical things when they come on ebay unless the high bidder is an alpha gam. In this case I didnt know.

But I wont deny I will love the badge as much as the original owner!

I also got an original watercolor purpose that was on ebay. Boy that was pricey!!!! The other bidder said her granddaughter was an "Alpha"??? I didnt trust it so I made sure I got it. I wondered how it was able to be sold in the first place...I thought they were given to the chapters???

Regarding the watercolor, you may want to check with someone from the Fraternity's Archives Committee to verify if it's truly an Emily Butterfield watercolor. If so, you may want to consider donating it to the Fraternity through Archives Committee so it can be properly preserved for future members to enjoy. If you're unwilling to do that, I hope you will let the Centennial Committee display it at Convention 2004!

As you know, chapter property does sometimes manage to develop "legs". Remember, the property of a chapter house, including paintings, belong to the House Association. When Alpha was closed, the Achives Committee was given the opportunity to take all the "historic" property and add it to the Fraternity's collection, including all Emily Butterfield drawings, paintings, and watercolors. I'm guessing that if this watercolor you have is truly an Emily original, it's probably "stolen" from the house in the past.

Yes, I contacted them and spoke with someone in length. The Person stated she had no doubt is was real due to how I described it . I have put it in my will along with my badges. If my chapter(theta sigma) doesnt want it for display, I will have it sent to IHQ.

Hope this sets minds as ease

Not to butt in, but my, give Sandy a hug for me first off!

When I have bid on ebay for one of our Badges, I e-m the other bidderts to find if they are LXA Brothers! If they prove to me they are I am out of the bidding!

I did that on a Rose-Huleman Badge and the Brother I dropped out on, it was an Alum who had it stolen way back when! They got it back to him! Damn was he happy!

The Brother is also the roomate of one of the guys I keep in contact with! Go figure, but it got back to the right place!

Please do what I did, have a will stating where your Badge goes and to whom!

Who is an ALpha Gam? Whooie go Ladys!

Love Ya all , well except my ex!

question about badge prices

I looked at the BP website and they don't have prices listed for badges, and I don't have a catalog, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me the current price of badges. I currently have the plain 10k one because I didn't have $300 to spend on a badge when I was initiated, but I would love to have an all-pearl badge. Also, does anyone have an opinion about the plain vs the chased chapter guards? I can't tell which would look better with the pearl badge from the pictures I've seen. Thanks!
