Favorite Night of Rush??
I was thinking back on my rush, and what my favorite night was. Obviously it was the night I got my bid, but other than that I was trying to thing what night was the most fun- what night made me not want to leave Phi Psi to check out another house.
I would have to say it was the night that a punk band played in the front yard, and there was an inflatable boxing-ring. That was a cool night.
What about everyone else? What was your favorite night? This could also give all of us new rush ideas too.

LOL, the band and the inflatable boxing ring sounds fun!
Fraternities have so much more freedom with Rush events than sororities do! (Although I don't have any experience with informal Rush.)
I think just about anyone who's gone through Formal Rush, er, "Recruitment" with Sororities would say the most amazing night was Preference. The ceremonies are sooooooo beautiful!
It's really the night when most girls leave just knowing that a certain sorority is the one for them.
I'll never forget my Pref night at KD. Hundreds of white roses, a fountain, the sisters singing very quietly, one of my best friends by my side...it was solemn, touching, and lovely.
~~~~~~~~~
I'd love to hear more about what the fraternities do! The guys here on GC tend to keep these things to themselves. Why is that?
Maybe it's a KD thing, but pref was my favorite as well. Because we're a new chapter, I never went through pref, but putting it on for the PNMs was an awesome experience. It really was a very touching ceremony and helped to remind the members of all the great things about our chapter as well as tell the PNMs about it.
I have to second the vote for pref night. Since I was a chapter founder, I never got to go through pref as a PNM... but as a rho chi, the only party that I was really sorry to miss was pref. (On the up side, I got to see how every sorority decorated their rush rooms and dressed up for pref. Quite impressive.  )
I have to say pref is my favorite, too. It is so beautiful! Of course, I went through informal rush, so I didn't actually have one of my own -- my favorite night from my own rush experience was the night they took all of us bowling... everyone was so silly and relaxed, and I made many friends that night that have been with me ever since.
The most fun is always skit night since it is so high energy, but sentimentally, pref is good since it helps you to remember why you chose your sorority in the first place.
My favorite night was pref night. I remember, as a PNM, standing in a circle while the sisters sang Shades, and getting goose bumps. I could just feel how there was so much sisterhood in that room - it was then that I knew that I had to be a Chi O!
When I got to be on the other side of rush, pref night was still my favorite. It's just a very touching night and I got to sing a solo, so that'll always be a special memory to me!
My favorite day when I went through rush as a PNM would have to be Sisterhood/Video Day, because that is the day that I felt I truly connected with KD, and totally felt at home there. It's also a day that you get to see what the girls are like through their video, and hear real personal stories.
As a sister, my favorite day is prefs, because the testimonials mean so much more when you know everyone in the circle, and you get a chance to share a little bit of your ritual with girls that you know will soon be your sisters.
I would say Pref too, especially if your chapter uses one for many years with sometimes a few changes to keep up with modern times.
That way, even if you went to Pref decades ago, you still remember the ceremony.
My 2nd fav is Bid Night cause of the excitement of seeing all the PMNs and hoping they love their sorority as much as I love mine!
I didn't go through rush.. I was directly recruited by the Sigma Nu director of expansion to start a new colony
We had some pretty whack (yes, that's a word) parties at first. We've got some cool stuff planned for this Fall but it's a secret
Bid Day!!!
I would have to say bid day/night is my favorite day of recruitment. All the major hard work is over and everyone gets to relax and hang out with sisters, new members, and everybodies family. I loved meeting my little for the first time and seeing the excitement on everybodies faces when we saw our wonderful new members.
I would have to say that the second invitational round (day three) is my favorite. We do "firesides" and it's often very emotional, but it's not as stressful as Pref night.
