DELTA SIGMA THETA -- The Acrostic

Hello to all of the SISTERFRIENDS of DST,

As I was driving home, I was thinking about GC, and an assignment I often give my students after they read a book.

Anyway, here is the idea: I want you to create an ACROSTIC using ALL of the letters that make up DELTA SIGMA THETA -- yes ALL 15!! The acrostic can consist of phrases or sentences that describe what you take DELTA to be or mean.

What is an acrostic you ask?

a·cros·tic Pronunciation Key (-krôstk, -krstk)
n.
A poem or series of lines in which certain letters, usually the first in each line, form a name, motto, or message when read in sequence.

Here is a basic example:

Conscientious seeker of knowledge, truth, and love
Ambitious woman with goal yet to achieve
Reliable friend
Loves to laugh and make others laugh
Addicted to GC, e-mail, and the Internet

SORORS, please let us just let the INTERESTS of DST reply to this one only!

This is what I came up with...

Dynamic women with an
Eagerness to be more than a social organization
Letting go the letters and mottos of what they once believed.
Twenty-two strong, educated, and admirable women they were
Advancing to heights no other could.

Sisterhood, scholarship, and service is what they were all about.
Igniting a torch that still burns bright.
Giving all they can to make a difference.
Making great strides by implementing programs based on the five thrust.
Awesome women they were and still are.

Tenacious are these women
Holding firm to the tradition and legacy set before them.
Emboding womanhood
Thriving for excellence
Affable, ambitious, and amazing are the women of DST.

Dynamic and
Elegant
Ladies
Tirelessly and
Affectionatley serving our community.

Standing strong against
Ignorance and other afflictions that threaten to
Grind our progress as a people to a halt.
Making moves into the future, but
Always remembering from where we came. From

Twenty Two in 1913 to over Two Hundred Thousand now. Amazing how a simple
Hug from one or many will
Energize me, keep me connected and remind me
That I will
ALWAYS be PROUD to be a DELTA GIRL!
