Those Caring Alpha Gams: Sisters Who Lended You A Hand or Ear.

[size=1.5]We all know that Alpha Gam tried to help out its sisters as much as possible with the SIS grant, scholarships and other things. This post is to share an experience where a fellow AGD (active or alumnae) helped you out when you needed something or someone (to listen to you) or if they have done something gracious that was completely unexpected. It can be minimal such as a sister throwing a surprise B-day party, lending you her badge, taking you out when you had a bad day or something big such as your house was blown away in a hurricane and a sister surpised you with a check of $10,000 to help you out.

I have 3....

1. The first would be my fave advisor. Being the only senior it could get lonely and she made sure to make me feel as if I has another senior in the house with me. We went out to eat alot and she even took me out for a fun weekend night. If i had a problem I could talk to her. I even went with her when she got her naval pierced and she bought me a jewel for mine. I kinda adopted her as my Pearl/Big Sis since my Pearl Sister (an alum of a chapter that has recolonized and has the role of a Big) didnt have time to do much and we didnt get to have Bigs.

2. Another is when I went to visit my old chapter in the fall, they asked alums to come help with rush. The visit didnt go as well as anyone hoped. I was kinda cranky cuz the train had messed up my luggage and sent it to Chicago and my house was a little (ok much) cranky cuz of having to deal with rush. One of the girl's moms who is an alum pulled me aside and told me that I she knew I was a good kid and knew I was disappointed with my visit and that I had spent alot of money to come down and taken days off of work when I really could have used the money. She pretty much made me feel like an awesome AGD and than handed me a sum of money. She told me not to reject it and that it wasnt pitty money, but money that I deserved for being who I am and doing what I did(can we say I was stunned and trying not to cry). I think she is completely awesome.

3. Then there is agdbirmingham. She had some shirts that she wanted the active girls in the chapter to have. Having graduated 1 1/2 before I got there she gave me one, even though I am an alum and it made me feel good cuz I felt like I got a hand me down gift from a Big Sis.

**EXTRA** All the Alpha Gams on this board for helping me whenever I seemed to have a crisis or just being there in general and for putting up with my sometimes crazy, pointless and weird post/threads :P[/size]
