Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service
This 6-week residential program in Indianapolis offers students the opportunity to intern with a nonprofit organization for 25 hours per week, take academic courses about the Ethics and Values of philanthropy, and the Role of Philanthropy in American Society, meet national leaders in the field of philanthropy, explore this as a career field, and network with students from all over the country who have similar interests.
Students can also obtain information from our web site:
www.ipvs.org or by contacting me (Martel Plummer, Associate Director of Academic Programs, The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University IUPUI, 317.684.8959
mkplumme@iupui.edu). Please reassure students that substantial scholarships are available; the cost should not prevent anyone from applying. (In some cases, students receive support from their college or university, sorority or fraternity, or other third party. Our funding partner, The Fund For American Studies, will match any "outside" scholarship a student obtains, up to the cost of the institute, in addition to providing other scholarships themselves!
