I'm pretty sure there was a thread on something like this earlier, but...

We have a skits and banners competition, a Greek God contest, a sports competition day, and usually one other event (sometimes a lip sync competition, it varies though). At the end of the week, points are tallied up according to who won each event, and the winner gets a trophy at the end-of-the-year IFSC banquet.

Ditto on the lame Greek Week....our events are arm wrestling, win-lose-or-draw, shopping cart races, keg roll, egg carry and tug-of-war.

Tell me if some of those just don't sound like a law suit waiting to happen.

It's a relay race for rolling a keg. Wow....nothing like our IFC/PHC genius at Bethany going out there to promote a great Greek stereotype, huh?

(I get so irriated because our house always votes to change Greek Week and always get shot down)

Cool Greek Week

At our school, Greek Week kicks off with a BBQ for the entire school on the first day. Then several different orgs. have simultaneous fundraisers, which are usually bake sales and car washes. Each night during Greek Week, several different fraternities and sororities have parties. The school sponsors a field day type activity on the last day of Greek Week that each organization competes in. Since we have an indoor and outdor pool, the NPHC will usually have BBQ/Poolparty during Greek Week.

Iowa State Greek Week

This site might help

http://www.stuorg.iastate.edu/greekweek/

We're doing a bunch of things, like, BBQ for all Greeks (I know that sounds unfair for the rest of the non-Greeks). That's on Tuesday.

The highlight is the Lip-Sync competition.

At Saturday, we're having Greek Olympics, the Tug-O-War, Egg-Joust, Veggie-thing, Bed-Race, Canoe-Race etc.

Also, we're doing Polar Bear Plunge at our lake in the campus (Lake LaVerne). We're collecting 50 bucks per person, and we're jumping into the icy-cold lake! It was freezing last year! Oh, well, we're doing it for the kids (Special Olympics of Iowa).
