Chi O ... Hope you don't mind
Hello to the ladies of Chi Omega!
I hope you don't mind my post here, but I wanted to share...
My name is Meribeth and I am now an alumni of a local sorority of Kappa Gamma Chi in Boston, MA (at Emerson College).
Origionally, there were 3 KRXs... but we are now the only one left. The Alpha chapter was started in 1890 at Ohio Wesleyan University, the Beta Chapter at Smith College in 1900 and the Gamma Chapter in 1902 at Emerson.
There were some pieces of the KRX history missing (since it started so long ago) and I started doing research. I know (thanks for talking to someone at the Chi O headquarters) that the Alpha chapter of KRX became the Kappa Gamma chapter of Chi O at Ohio Wesleyan U. Although that chapter is now inactive. I don't believe the Beta chapter at Smith became a part of Chi O.
Anyway, my point of writing is because it took a lot of time and research to put the pieces together. The XO headquarters were very helpful with sending me information.
I also find it funny that both KRX and ChiO have the owl as the mascot and although our flower is not the white carnation, we require those who are pledging to ware one at all times.
I guess my point is, I have done a lot of research on ChiO and the history of KRX and because of this I must say I find your organization something spectacular. I have always thought it must be nice to have sisters across the country. You are lucky ladies.
Thanks for letting me share... Just for future reference, I just changed my log-in name to KRXAlum, so look for me if you like!
Thanks - Meri
