Okay well normally i am not one to complain about everything because i know that there is someone in a worst situation than me, BUT today at work was just awful........
since im on spring break they asked me to come in an hour and a half earlier than i normally do the two days i work. So, i work 730am-630pm. On tuesday i went on a field trip and since we ate lunch with the kids at the park, i didnt get a lunch hour and work 11 hours straight. I was exhausted, but just because im not used to working long hours like that.
TODAY, same hours and got a lunch hour, but definitely a worser (<--- is that even a word?) day!
For starters, this kid in my class who is like 3 or 4 pooped in his underware while playing outside. This little boy never causes problems nor has accidents, but something is definitely going on at home which i think is making him needy for attention. Anyway, i get some clothes for him and tell him to change in the bathroom. Well at that same time, the girls from ballet class show up and i start to help them change. By the time i was finished, i noticed that the little boy hadnt come out of the bathroom yet. I go in to check on him and there is poop EVERYWHERE, toilet, wall, floor, on his clothes, on his hands, EVERYWHERE, not to mention it STINKS!!! Okay, i dont have any kids, obviously, and have a hard time handling these kinds of things! That is why i am fortunate that i dont work in the toddler building! My assistant is outside with half the class so i have to do this alone while the rest of the children are working. I put my gloves on and start cleaning everything and then get wipes to clean him off because its like caked on on his bottom. I was about to pass out!!! I feel sorry for the little boy because he has no blame, but it was still disgusting!!! I know some of you mothers might think i was being a baby about this, but im sure its different when its your own child.
Oh by the way, today is an offical "hamburger day". In honor of today, the entire school had mcdonalds, they brought the food to us. So since it was such a nice day, we decided to have a picnic outside. Well the kids were so wild, but we got through it. After lunch we all went inside for nap time. About 20 minutes later the director comes over to tell us that ALL the kids need to get up and go over to the picnic tables and pick up all the fries they left on the ground. First of all, it was just a FEW fries, and i thought it was rude of her to say she didnt care if they were already asleep or not. My assistant offered to go herself and clean the mess up while i put the kids to sleep but she said no. These kids are 3-5 year olds, not even in kindergarten yet! So we get all the kids up, walk all the way over the to picnic tables and pick up the few fries on the floor. Then, walk all the way back to the rooms and put them down for nap, which always takes a while for them to calm down. Its easier said than done, the director wasnt the one that had to wake them and then try to get them to sleep AGAIN!
I also hit my leg on the corner of a wooden table which majorly hurts and I got a big red spot. Luckily its gone now, but it still hurts, and im sure tomorrow morning i will have a HUGE bruise!
Thank goodness my other days are normally MUCH better!!!!
