Unhappy goodbye

This will be my last post as an active Alpha Xi Delta, as I am graduating this Saturday. It's been great! I love my sorority and all my sisters! Any other seniors in the same bittersweet boat I am? As excited as I am to get on with my life, I am going to miss all the fun times and randomness, the ritual and the songs. A major milestone in my life has been reached, and now that I'm here, I don't want to go...

Exscuse the cheesiness, I think it's allowed at this point!

(this song is to the tune of "The Rose" by Bette Midler)
Some say friends pass through your lifetime
And they touch you on their way
These are friends for but a moment
Lingering here then gone away
But I found friends, these special sisters
True friends, in Alpha Xi
No matter where I am tomorrow
There a sister waits for me

Memories we share together
Happy times we can recall
Holding hands and lifting voices
Truly close to one and all
Fresh and young or hair turned silver
It matters not to me
These are all my special sisters
True friends in Alpha Xi

Through the years we work together
Building strength throughout the land
Holding fast to those ideals
From our founders' guiding hands
We sing thy praise, Alpha Xi Delta
For sisters yet to be
These are all my special sisters
True friends in Alpha Xi

I love that song, it makes me teary. Probably my favorite one ever.

Talking It's not goodbye

Congratulations!!!! I know that you are excited about your graduation.

And it is just the beginning.... your time spent as an Alpha Xi Delta in school was simply preparing you for the rest of your life as an Alpha Xi Delta.

Are you going back to Texas after graduation?

Until such time as I find a job and can move elsewhere, yes.

I am also graduating Saturday and getting ready to join the wonderful adult world. Right now it's kinda strange because I've spent all my life up till now in school and don't know what to do wiithout having to study or go to some meeting. I know there is alot out there to be done and I'm excited because I'm getting married in October and moving 500 miles away from home. I also kinda bittersweet to think that this is the last time that I have to move out of my dorm room, the last time I'll be able to go to chapter as an active member, and everything that goes along with being in college and pursuing a degree. Over all it's a very strange time in my life but it'll get back to normal once I adjust to what life is like outside of school.

Congratulations to you, PinkRose, as well.

You guys have to "pinky swear" that you will find and join your local alumnae association.

Sorry, my 4 year old came home wanting to "pinky swear" everything. It was pretty cute.
