The media cracks me up.
I was watching the local news here during lunch today and there was a segment on a AID's walk in Texas and they showed a Sigma Nu and a DPhiE walking together. One of the newscasters was like hey what are the greeks doing there. The other one was like oh they probably thought there was free beer ha ha ha. And then the first one said ya they were probably walking for their brothers and sisters. I was like woah thats pretty harsh. And then the funny thing was, during the commercial break the station was doing a promo for their "stuff the bus" campain(getting people to buy school supplies for needy kids). Anyways they were like we need everyoen to help out this year, especially you fraternity and sorority memembers...thanks for helping out last year. And these were the same two people that were making fun of greeks in the first place. A couple other friends of mine in other GLO's on campus said they aren't helping out this year because of that and sent a statement to the station. So it will be interesting if they apologize for it. Just thought you guys would find that amusing.

What city did you see this coverage in? Sounds pretty bush league to me -- and as many of you know, I spent many years working in TV news rooms.
Sounds kinda small town. And remember, Noon anchors are often a few cards short of a full deck. That's why they're on at Noon and not on a major show. Not that that excuses them being way out of line.

DeltAlum,
LOL at the "deck" references. It does sound like UNF SigmaChi's in a smaller market and perhaps the anchors need a little brush-up in professionalism?
In other words, present the news and don't make personal cracks.

I have to agree. Doesn't sound very professional to me.
