When I was director of new members, I told all of the Big Sisters to go buy a pumpkin. She cut off the top and put the little sisters name on it. She then decorated the outside to her liking. It looks really good when you cut the delta and gamma out.
This is the tricky part: She put a note on the inside saying who she was and a candle. Be carful that the candle does not burn the paper.
While the little sis's were still inside we placed pumpkins all over the courtyard. I took each of the tops and placed them in a line. They came outside found their top and proceded to hunt for their pumpkin. It is fun to go around trying to figure out which top goes where. If you do it at night the glow of the candles in the pumpkins is really beautiful.
I realize this only works for fall, and that it is too late for your situation but it might help someone else out.

At Gamma Eta chapter, at San Jose State University- for our Bis Sis Revealing we have the Bigs find a poem, or write their own. Then they break it up and pass pieces of it to other sisters, keeping the last line of the poem for themselves (usually something to the effect of 'I am your Big' or 'You are my little'. We have the Littles come in to a room full of sisters and read the first line of their poem, then we all follow with our pieces until the big reads her line. It's fun - but depending on the pledge class and how muchy the Big's poems are... sometimes we cry.

We had the big sis make animal masks out of posterboard. You would wear your mask and the little sis would be given a matching mask. Then she would find you. We also did this at our town's zoo , which was free to get in. I realize other zoos are not free!
They have a variety of masks at www.orientexpress.com. They are foam and very cheap in quantity. Then you wouldn't have to make them. We moms buy them for party favors a lot!
Another thing we did was (we had 30 new members so imagine!) the big sis got a skein of yarn in a certain color, put it all over the room ( which was intertwined with all the other big sis's yarn- their own special color). Lil sis' would get one end and try to get to the other end- their big sis! We did this for my group and I really liked it. In fact, although the mask idea is great, I didn't like it and wished that we had done the yarn idea.

We had all the little sisters (we called them Anchor Mates) sit on the floor of our chapter room, while a group of about 5 big sis's at a time went to the front of the room and did a "strip tease" to a song. We would have on layers of clothes (about 5 shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters or whatever). The last shirt remaining would be a matching t-shirt that the little sister had on, that was given to her earlier.
Why I really liked this was because it upped the suspense of who your Anchor Mate was going to be! And it was fun...

All of the bigs came onto the porch where all the frosh sleep at about 5 am singing and clapping to wake us up. They instructed us to go downstairs to the formal living room, where we found a present and clue from our Bigs, instructing us to go to another room where we'd find another present and clue..and so on and so forth until we all were led back to the porch where they'd put our final bunch of presents, including a set of pajamas. We then went out onto our sun porch overlooking the lawn, where all of the Bigs stood in anchor formation singing a DG song to us, wearing the same pajamas as we were. It was so fun to try to figure out who you matched, and then we all ran down to them and it was great! Had a big breakfast afterwards and of course a photographer for pictures (oh those turned out sooo gross..imagine how we all looked at 5 in the morning. eek!). Then it was back to bed for an hour before my first class!

Eta has done many different revealings. I came through in fall 99 and we did balloon popping. We had three balloons (a bronze, a pink, and a blue) all with different clues inside of them. the bronze was usually the most generic, the pink was a little more personal, and the blue usually gives it away. we always have the pi alphas guess everytime the look at a clue because it is cool to hear who they think their bigs are. in fall 2000 we did the pumpkin thing but we did it so the bigs carved a face and kept a piece and let their little put it together. once they only needed the last piece, we had them guess who had it and then the big stood up and put their piece in the pumpkin. last year i was vp member education so i helped out the director of new members with big/lil. in spring we did puzzle pieces....we cut their bigs baby picture (which was scanned) into different pieces and they had to figure out who it was. and in the fall, we went with the balloons again cause we had an enormous pledge class and didn't want it to get boring. i missed this past big/lil but i heard that they had ice cream sundaes and in the bottom of the bowl was the name of their big.

just an idea
I'm from the Delta Nu chapter and we had all the big sis's come up with clues then hide them around the house and each clue had different puzzle pieces in them, then they came to the formal room and had to put together the puzzle (it was in the shape of a heart. There was one piece missing which their big sis had and they had to find the girl with the missing piece. It was awesome. The girls had such a good time.
