Need help!

Okay, so there are a few other music GLOs here in our music department. One of them we've been on bad terms with in the past, but the last year or so we got along great, and even did a few socials together.

This year though, they've been mean to us and said crap like we're "snobby little girls" (we aren't), and told us we couldn't hang our banner in the band room until they had a meeting about it. What the hell?! It's a public room!

THey constantly badmouth us when we have been NOTHING but nice to them. So what can we do NOW? Any advice?

My first inclination would be to ignore them...

After that, I would fight and fight hard. Find out the university rules on displaying banners on university property... Perhaps the dean of student life might be of assistance. You might talk to the head of the music department to find out their feelings on the matter.

Don;t give up and don't be bullied. Find out the university rules and use them against the other group.

If there's something I absolutely detest, it's one group thinking they are better than another...

Well, that wouldn't work because all the music Greeks see each other in that building constantly....

......

OH GIRL.....have we ever had this problem!

As chapter president I went to the "other organizations" president and I went to one of the drum majors who also was in that sorority. I told them my concerns and flat out said, "if you want a war, we can bring you one. But I highly I doubt you want that...." they didn't and I think they were shocked I confronted them about it. So now we are growing and trying to get along. I and the XYZ's sorority president sat down our chapters and flat out said - no more bad mouthing, or YOU will be in trouble. Because I guarentee it, no matter how hard you think your girls aren't saying anything back, I bet maybe one or two are or have.

If this doesn't work, the way it goes at my school is all chapters have a sponser that is one of the teachers in the fine arts department. Flat out go to them and say, ma'am/sir our organization is having difficulties and we dont' know what to do. It may seem like tattle telling, but if this is your third resort its worth it.

PM me if you have any questions, I'm sure we discuss this better in a private matter
