Survivor Amber in Playboy!

This is just my opinion, but I don't see how posing nude can possibly bring a good image to a girl's sorority.

Um, how exactly would Amber posing in Playboy bring a good image to my sorority? It wouldn't...and IHQ certainly frowns upon that!

Perhaps you need to re-check your sources because an Amber fansite (maintained by ppl in her hometown and endorsed by the Brkich family) reports that apparently she has TURNED DOWN Playboy's offer. She had been persuaded by her family, her sorority sisters, even people from her hometown NOT TO POSE.

She did pose for the July issue of Stuff Magazine, and the issue hits newsstands on June 15th. For a preview, visit www.amber-brkich.com .

Another FYI: Amber turned down Playboy's lucrative offer and decided to pose FOR FREE for Stuff Magazine and this was included in an article from a PA newspaper:

Hee, for some reason, I can't even imagine an AGD posing NUDE. On my campus, they're just all-around nice people... But every campus is different.

You might be right but the guys on the radio said she signed the deal this past Friday. Maybe they were lieing. And a famous alumn who posed nude could help the sorority image by attracting guys and showing that girls from that organiztion are sexy and confidant about their bodies and themselves.

The reputation and image that Alpha Gamma Delta cares about are stated in the ideals of our purpose, and posing nude in Playboy would seem financially ideal for Amber, but keep in mind that she is a representative of the sorority, and doing so would go against what AGDs strive to be. She showed her confidence by enduring the Australian outback...she doesn't have to bare it all to prove that she's a beautiful woman.

In my opinion, I could give a rat's azz about what you or other fraternity guys think about the girls in my sorority.

Until I hear otherwise, I think I'll believe what the site says.

I didn't hear you ladies complain when Brad Pitt was in Playgirl. Yes he sued to get the picture stopped but it helped out my fraternity more than you ever know. He should have let them print fully or at least get a payment for it to keep it. Brad Pitt has kept Sigma Chi flowing with all the hot ladies.

Obviously Brad Pitt has some sense of modesty about him, which is something that I respect. And, I don't see how you could possibly be in favor of seeing one of your brothers exploited when he made it so obvious that he didn't want to be. I would think that backing his decision would be the brotherly thing to do --- not trying to capitalize on the fiasco.

Ok, maybe its just me and Im an AGD, but I dont see anything wrong with her posing for Playboys if she did. To me it has nothing to do with the sorority. I dont think people would be like, "ewww that Amber girl posed nude, her sorority must be full of whores". Im sure some people at IHQ would have a problem with that, but I am sure some wouldnt. Just because she would pose nude doesnt mean she still cant uphold AGD standards. By saying judging her if she posed nude and saying its defacing the character of AGD arent we doing the same thing that we hate non-greeks doing to us so much? besides no one ever complains about the Miss America Pagents defacing our sororities b/c some believe they are sexist and set women back. I have nothing against posing nude and pagents by the way. I say do it if you want.

SigmaChiRocks: Brad Pitt is a big movie star. I'm sure he got the attention because of that and not because he was a Sigma Chi. If someone is shallow enough to join or hang out with an organization because of a celebrity, then they are as dumb as your initial remark.

Brad Pitt grosses me out...the boy looks like he hasn't seen soap since the Bush administration (the first one, that is). The last thing I would want to see is "little Brad."

Re Amber, forget what her sorority would do, her hometown would FREAK OUT. It's the kind of place where everyone has known you since you were in the womb. I don't think she wants to put her family in that sort of position.

Ditto on Brad...the last time he shaved was probably when he was on Dallas (during the Reagan years).

As far as Amber goes--you're right, Beaver, PA would freak out. They held their breath as Amber made her decision where to pose. If I were Amber, I'd hate for my HS Geometry Teacher and regular Postal Delivery Man to see me buck naked. Another thing...her family's pretty prominent in the city as her grandpa was once mayor of the town. They've even got Brkich Way named after him.

I heard on the radio that Amber Brkich from survivor who is an AGD from Pennsilvania will pose nude for Playboy for a reported $100,000. More power to her, lots of money and can help bring a good image to her sorority! Plus I hear she posed for Stuff magazine in a skimpy bikini. Thought I would update everyone.

Hey Brad helps us nude or not but i think it helped. Some AGD's and her hometown would freak but it her life and her choice. Everyone should at least respect that.
