New Chapter

My local sorority decided last night that they were going to start a Beta chapter at a nearby community college. A lot of these girls will be transferring to our school in the future so my question is...when members of national organizations transfer schools how does this work? Let's say for instance my membership number in the Alpha Chapter is #81, if I transferred schools would I receive a new number (Beta #??) or do you go by the chapter that you were initiated into? I hope I am being clear

One of my sisters had pledged at another chapter and transferred to mine. When she wanted to buy a chapter guard, she wasn't sure what to do. She thought that she should buy the chapter that had initiated her, but I thought that she should buy the guard for our chapter where she had been an officer. I know that this doesn't answer your question, but I thought that it was an interesting problem for her. BTW, she never bought a chapter guard. Oh, we didn't have numbers as far as I remember.

At least for us, you never get a new number. On the other hand, what number you are is totally not a big deal for us.

As far as the chapter guard, you could wear any chapter you have been a part of.

None of the NPC sororities, however, have community college chapters. I must say I think having sororities at CCs is a good idea, although I don't know that NPC sororities want to be the ones to expand there.
