Sorority represented in the most states
In conjunction with another post I reported relating that only five states had all of the NPCs, I thought it would be interesting to see how many states had chapters of each NPC sorority. The vast majority of groups are missing in at least a dozen states.
Pi Beta Phi was best represented with 43, followed by Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Alpha Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Alpha Chi Omega. Five sororities are missing in more than half of the states. Interestingly, four of those groups (Alpha Epsilon Phi, Delta Phi Epsilon, Phi Sigma Sigma and Sigma Delta Tau) are the groups with the most chapters in the State of New York!

Very interesting! Also worth noting is that Pi Phi, DG, APhi, Theta and Kappa also have several chapters in Canada. AXO and XO do not have any active chapters in Canada.

I don't think that's particularly surprising; three of those four groups are historically Jewish, with the fourth being non-denominational.

Only SDT and AEPhi are historically Jewish. DPhiE is not an historically Jewish chapter, as far as I know. At SOME campuses they may have a higher rate of Jewish women due to the absence of the other two.

Sorry, then they are non-denominational, no? I know they were taking Jewish members long before most of the older NPC's.

My recollection is that Delta Phi Epsilon was one of the first sororities to be founded with the explicit understanding of not discriminating on the basis of creed or national origin.

AEPhi also does not discriminate on the basis of religion. You don't have to be Jewish to join - but if you are uncomfortable with being in a sorority based on Jewish ideals, you probably wouldn't be happy in AEPhi. (I was Catholic when I pledged.)
That said, you're not going to find a lot of AEPhi chapters where Jews are thin on the ground.

Yeah, my point was mainly that it's not surprising that the sororities with a huge presence in New York would be different from those with a huge presence in, say, the SEC. They are fundamentally different, or at least were so upon founding.

All were founded in NY, so... seems legit.
DPhiE - NYU (my alma mater - wonder if their colors are tied to NYUs colors)
Phi Sigma Sigma - (CUNY) Hunter College
AEPhi - Barnard
Sigma Delta Tau - Cornell
Four very different schools, and 3 within a mile of each other.
ETA: In my experience, SDT and AEPhi seem to be opposite ends of the Jewish spectrum: I rushed AEPhi and talk about sticking out like a sore thumb! They were super conservative to me, versus the SDTs I've met who remind me of Jersey Shore: Greek Row.
