Talking EBAY - Not just pins....

I am pleased to announce that I won an auction on EBAY tonight. I bought myself a wonderful pair of princess cut pink tourmaline earrings set in white gold. I got them for 20.00 including shipping and handeling.

Anyone else peruse through EBAY or bid on things? I am addicted to bidding on loose gemstones. I've been trying to win myself an emerald cut ametrine stone forever. Unfortunately the bids always end at like 4 am and someone outbids me...and yes I know about Proxy bidding, but I don't want to end up paying more cuz someone tried to outbid me and gave up!

Oh well...so the question is...who on here frequents EBAY to look at things/bid on stuff other than sorority pins?

I just won an auction on a vintage XO pin. The other bidder was very nice - he wrote ... "I see you are a Chi Omega so I will stop the bidding" [my name on ebay is chi_o_gal] - so that was nice of him.

I also collect Larry Bird memorabilia so I bid on that stuff too.

I've won a couple things on eBay--

I got a SUPER cute pair of owl mugs that were apparently hand-made, and nobody else bid on them so I got them for about 10 bucks after shipping.

Then I also got a sweet little trinket dish (that I think was actually an ASH TRAY) that has two owls cuddling and I think that I ended up spending about 10 bucks on that.

I figured that those were sort of 'different' items that I could use as gifts when I get a Little, and her gifts would not be exactly like everyone else's

So, I was a pretty satisfied eBay customer.

Books on ebay

I buy books on ebay. I like to collect books that are over 100 years old. I search pretty often, and if I see a title or author I like, I bid. I now have an entire set of Cherry Ames Nurse books, and am working on completing a collection of Alexandre Dumas books.

I have a few text books I've thought about putting up for bid. My school has a policy of buying back books, but for some reason I'm always stuck buying a new book that is discontinued the next year. URG!

I like to buy books and vintage nursing stuff on Ebay. I've been tempted to buy some of the jewlery they sell; you can really get good deals! Oh-and I bought a Kate Spade-yes, it was real-for only like, $50! Yes! I've gotten one of my friends addicted to Ebay too
