Lightbulb Keeping Organized

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice for staying organized with school, work, extracurriculars and Sorority functions.

I'm thinking about buying a planner that I can bring to meetings but does anyone have any specific notes?

I am currently an active sister and I will have 2 jobs and a husband (which for all you married ladies know is a job in and of itself). I also want to go to a gym and workout to get back in shape.

My schedule is going to be full but I look forward to the busy-ness of life!

Not an active anymore, just a super busy mom who loves to be organized. I like Google Calendar because I can easily share it with my husband. That way, he doesn't have to ask if I'll be home at any given time because he can see what my plans are. Plus you can access it with your phone easily. What works best for me is to put everything into the calendar. I often schedule my gym sessions into my calendar so I leave time for them.

Thanks! for the advice! I will definitely keep that in mind.

More specifically geared to actives, do you have a specific way of taking notes for meetings? I always leave a meeting with a page full of scribbles and half finished sentences :/

I hear you! I was my chapter's Panhel rep, and had things to report back to my chapter, so - well, I learned to write fast. These days, I'd probably bring my laptop to meetings, as I type faster than I write.

I had dedicated binders for each of my classes. I loaded them up with plenty of looseleaf paper for notes. If the professor or TA was good enough to hole punch any handouts, so much the better - otherwise I just hole-punched them myself when I got back to my dorm. I also had a binder for each of my extracurriculars, including one for the sorority.

And I hear you on being married being a job in and of itself. But I don't have a binder for him

As for my schedule, everything went into my Palm Pilot (remember those? ). Now everything goes in my iPhone. If it's not in the phone it doesn't exist.
