Ok you all tomorrow is it! the day i have been waiting for for soooooooo long!!!! Can you imagaine how excited i am?!

I am, in less then 36 hours, going to be initiated and now be able to call you all my sisters!!! Isn't that the most coolest thing
( this section is from a prev. thread of why i chose alpha phi... it felt appropiate right now) :
I want to tell you why i chose Alpha Phi. I always wanted to be in a sorority in college and i never either had 1) the time because of my studies and 2) my age at the time i was in college. These were huge hinderances on my part and as well as geographical location.
I went to a very southern school, Univ. of Arkansas, and I was 25/26 at the time i was there, so rushing and peldging was not going to happen.
I always felt cheated from the exprience. So when i got home from Arkansas i was looking into avenues of trying to join at a Cal State school as i was attending CSU San Bernadino( where i will be tomorrow). There again i ran into the same problem....age. I thought because California was a little more relaxed i would not have a problem. There again that pesky age thing.
I looked into some sororites at the time that possibly offered AI and i didn't see anything really so i gave up on the idea. It never really left my mind completely just backburnered it for a while. I got married and moved to Oklahoma City for 3 yrs and for some reason i got it in my head i was going to try this again and see what kind of outcome there was.... now years later. I had a friend i worked with at AOL call center who was Iniatiated as an Alumnae into AKA . I figured if the pan-hell sororities are offering it now in 1999 so maybe some panhellenic's are doing it also. I found that DZ offered it and i wrote them, and of course they the alum. assoc. didn't know, but were going to send in to have me initiated.
Well I got pregnant and had a difficult pregnancy and was ordered to bed for the rest of my pregnancy. (side note: wonderful healthy baby boy named Matthew was born

)
Well since then i moved back home to So. Cal and never was initated with DZ. Plus i never really felt comfortable with the alum chapter.
A yr or two later ( 2002) i found Alpha Phi.

Now from the very first meeting with my alum chapter, i knew i had found a home and new family full of sister when i found you all and my alum group in San Bernadino. It was an instant click and felt like i was home and knew them forever. I love them all as i love you all!
I never thought i would find this kind of feeling. The love and support we all have for one another is overwhelming and come Novemebr 9th when i am initiated i will be sooo proud to be your sister and where my badge proudly knowing i have found my home.
I am a huge beleiver in faith and what is meant to be and i believe strongly in my heart that i was meant to be a Alpha Phi and a sister to you all!
Love,
Laura
