just wanted to share with everyone on GC some really good news my chapter got.
Turns out the Fraternity Executives Assn conference is in town this week. The chap. president gets an email from the Director of Chapter Services telling him that he's been invited to dinner downtown by the Executive VP and the national president of our org. Another brother went as well, because he has served on our national undergrad council. Apparently the dinner went SO well, that the EVP and NP now are coming to the chapter meeting sunday night. They want to meet our brothers and see what were all about.
OK, this is HUGE for us for several reasons. 1) Out GF traditionally isnt big on texas chapters and we dont get a lot of respect from them. 2)Our chapter is ony 25 years old. In the national scheme of things, the old chapters hold alot of the power and win alot of the awards, also because our alums are young they dont donate a lot of money to the GF, and 3) Just 5 yeas ago the chapter was on the virge of being closed to manpower. Now weve turned EVERYTHING around. This is quite the coup for our chapter. (theres another chapter in our town and the natl officers arent meeting withthem. that says something right there.)
AND we found out that our university president is a brother as well. The EVP and NP are meeting with him on Monday morning as well. So this is all good all around.
I trust my brothers will make a great impression, and I am very excited for the opportunity for them to meet the two people who run our fraternity on a daily basis. Before now, only about 10 of us had met them at our national conferences.
This is a very good thing for my chapter. For the first time we are getting the recognition we now deserve. Too cool.
