Rising Sophomore Rerush

Hi everybody!
I am currently a freshman and thinking about rerushing during Fall 2014 formal recruitment. I go to a Pac12 school. I rushed as a freshman and had a great first 3 sets. During skit day (3rd set) I was really sick with bronchitis causing me to lose my voice and overall I wasn't myself. During pref, I was able to pref the max of 2 houses, one that I kinda liked and thought could grow on me and one that I knew from set 1 was not the house for me. I ended up getting a bid from the second house that I knew wasn't for me. I went to bid day and was part of the new member process for about 2 weeks before dropping. I don't really replies saying that I should not have dropped etc. I really did not get along with the girls and some were viciously mean towards the other sororities on campus, "If you ever interact with a cop when you're drunk or leaving a party, tell them you are in ABC or XYZ sorority because we want them to get in trouble." Overall, I got a horrible vibe and did not want these girls to be my sisters for life. I am definitely still thinking about rerushing during formal Fall '14, I still have a very positive image and respect for Greek life. Does anyone have any advice for how I should approach this when asking (or asking again) for recommendations and during formal rush itself? Anyone go through a similar experience? Any tips would help! Feel free to private message me if you have more specific questions! Thanks in advance everyone and sorry this is kind of long!

I say go for it!
Be honest when you are asking for recommendations. You don't have to go into details. Just say that you gave it a try and you just did not mesh with the women.

Be as active as you can on campus & volunteering, keep up your grades and go thru recruitment again.
At some universities (& specifically Pac -12, like UCLA), Panhellenic will allow you to skip the GLO you got a bid from last year.

At Arizona, you cannot skip any chapters. Keep your explanation very simple and drama-free, both when asking for recommendations and when visiting the chapters again. Be prepared for heavy cuts.

FYI: you will be sisters for life with thousands of women of all ages, not just those in your new member class or who are currently active. I know active members in many GLOs who made connections after they left school, and were never particularly close to their chapter sisters. Funny how that works sometimes.
