recently inactive local sorority sister

hello,
I joined my local sorority (only sorority on campus at the time) in hopes of making new friends, growing as individual and making a difference. as I have stated in my title I have recently gone inactive after being in my sorority for two years. I stuck it out in hopes of change but no such luck. there seems to be a lack of structure and it made me upset and sad. I went inactive for two reasons, one I will be busy in the fall and two I was verbally attacked by another sister and threatened which was not dealt with.
it breaks my heart that I did what I did because I loved the concept of what my sorority was all about but I couldn't go on with the way things were going. any advice?
