Late?

Do any of the TKE chapters out there charge late fines for meetings and other events?

its a measure we had to regretably instate:

from the bylaws. Chapter IX Section 2:

Attendance of Meetings. Any active member who incurs 2 or more unexcused absences in one semester will be immediately suspended. An unexcused absence is defined as any absence not approved prior to a regular meeting by the Prytanis. Each unexcused absence shall incur a fine of $5 for the second
unexcused, $10 for the third, $15 for the fourth, and so on. Two late attendances shall be counted as one unexcused absence, regardless of reason, and shall be subject to the appropriate fine except when the first unexcused absence is incurred by receiving 2 “lates”. This shall warrant a $5 fine. The Prytanis will convey a written record to the Grammateus of all excused absences prior to any regular meeting.

Yah thats true but honestly I don't know many chapters that actually charge late fees. The rule here is, late is defined as 15 minutes after the meeting starts. If the frater has and excuse approved before hand he can be later longer. I guess it all goes by peoples definitions of late. I am sure the newer chapters follow the black book better than the older ones because they really need to.
