Nuyorican Poets Cafe

Did anyone in the NYC area try to go to the poetry slam finals this past weekend? My husband and I tried to get in but the line was out the door. They were letting like 2 people in every half hour it was nuts. But some of the people that were there said they had never seen the place that packed. So for anyone that got a chance to get in, how was it?
