Alpha Gamma Delta- History Question

In this article http://www.thegauntlet.ca/node/17744, the Calgary chapter Alpha Gam president said, " “When Canada went to war in 1939, American Alpha Gamma Deltas raised funds to support the Canadian war effort[.]” This support came over two years before the U.S. officially entered the war.  Being that I'm in grad school for history, I find all Alpha Gam history fascinating. I haven't ever heard anything about this, and I was wondering if anyone had any other information about this time in our history! (Or could point me in the right direction

)
