A Broadway Musical Recruitment Story
Hey everyone,
So excited to be posting my recruitment story on GC. I’m pretty sure I’ve been reading recruitment stories on here for about 5 months. I am just getting myself super eager for recruitment at my school.
Just a little information about myself. I go to a Big Ten school. I did go through recruitment last year but only made it through the first two rounds. I then dropped out because my mother thought finishing my freshmen year with no distractions would be a good idea. I was pretty upset about the whole thing and over the summer introduced her to some of my friends who are in sororities. I asked them to talk to her and explain how being in a sorority doesn’t get in the way of school work and if anything encourages all its members to aim for higher grades. She then gave me the OKAY to rush the following year.
At my school we have 14 sororities
The theme of my story will be Broadway Musicals.
I am from New York and every chance I get I always go see a show.
1. The Phantom of the Opera
2. The Lion King
3. Les Miserables
4. Movin’ Out
5. A Chorus Line
6. Hairspray
7. Rent
8. Chicago
9. The Book of Mormon
10. Memphis
11. Mamma Mia!
12. Annie
13. Rock of Ages
14. Wicked
I do plan on going through this recruitment process with an open mind even though I did see most of these sororities last year in the first two rounds.
Round 1: Meet the Chapters – This round is split into two days.
Round 2: Philanthropy Round
Round 3: Sisterhood Round
Round 4: Preference Round
Then…BID DAY!!
I will not be doing a live update. Can’t wait to find out which sorority I will become a part of!!

Gonna give you the advice we give everyone. You should either wait until recruitment is over, or be very, very vague on here telling this story. You would be amazed how easy it is to find out where you go!! There are a lot of readers, even unregistered ones, on GC. We would hate to see someone cut you because you like someone better and posted about it on here. Maybe take notes, or write out the story in word as it happens, but wait until after Bid day to post.
Good luck! Remember to keep an open heart and smile!

kateee is giving you good advice. It can be very easy for people to figure out your school and the chapters, even when you think you're being vague. It has happened in the past that nutty people have read rush threads and interfered with the rush of the poster.
All the best to you, but put us on a delay and post after it's all over.

I've got a five way tie between Phantom, Les Miz, Rent, Wicked and Lion King. Can't just pick one because I LOVE them all!

ditto...I'm kind of hoping the yellow font group is gone after the first round.
