Uggs

What colors are your favorites? I need some new morning dog walking shoes for winter. I've had Emu's before in sand color, but they got dirty so easily. I'm wavering between gray or chocolate. I like the black, but I have heard the dye stains your feet.

Obligatory: OMG, Uggs are hideous; 2007 called, they want their fashion back; they're overpriced, etc.

They're comfy and I'm buying a pair. So help me choose a color. I tend to wear more blacks than browns in my wardrobe and I see this as weekend dog park or early morning dog potty walking footwear. I welcome your input!

If you wear more blacks than browns, then I would go with Gray. Also, I would recommend getting the Uggs with the removable liners. That way when you wear that part out, you are only paying $30 ish for new liners, rather than all new Uggs.

In these parts, where Uggs really are worth their price in winter, they are still incredibly popular. We've had the traditional camel, and my daughter has a tall pair of chocolate ones that seem to be wearing well. I would advise against the spring/warmer temp. versions that are not fully lined. My daughter had a pair of those and they wore out quite quickly in the toes. Be sure to buy them from a reputable shoe store...the on-line knock-off market is quite sophisticated.

I have the black talls, but didn't have a problem with staining. I second the idea of gray if you don't ant to go all black.

I have no idea where you live so this may not apply. I come from a rainy area and waterproofed my uggs. It made a world of difference and helped them last for much longer than pairs that I didn't. Not sure how it would work with the snow as we don't get much of that here, but it probably wouldn't hurt.

I waterproofed my synthetic and my sheepskin emus, and it helped in both cases! In terms of snow, snow doesn't really leave many marks, unless it is extremely wet snow. I don't care if "they're ugly", people wear crocs all of the time

I have no problem with Uggs for the cold climes, but the Uggs and Norts is just silly looking.

lol!

I still like Uggs They ARE so comfy!

I had tall Chocolate ones that were my fave. I wore those things for 4 years winters straight. I really liked the color a lot, I'd recommend it. I currently have grey ones, but they are the knit kind, so they're a bit lighter than the standard ones. I've seen the grey color of the standard ones thought, and they are really pretty. I don't think you can go wrong either way! I also had Chestnut in the short style--I really liked that color as well.

I'm sad that the price has gotten out of control. I swear that when I bought my Classic Tall pair, they were around $150. They're $200 now!!

I have black Uggs that I love. I can't wait to break them out. They hold up very well and are warm. I don't think they are all that attractive either, but they get the job done for that early morning dog walk or a run to the store in the freezing cold. I water proofed my Uggs and have had them for 4 years and they still look great. The only caution about the black is if where you live salts & sands a lot in the winter, the salt leaves white stains on the black uggs. It comes off with a wet paper towl, but its kind of annoying.

I have had Uggs for a couple of years now. I have the boots in brown, and the slippers. If 2007 calls, no, they cannot have them back. They keep my feet warm!

I love Uggs, but my budget does not. I have a pair of bearpaws that I love and that keep my feet toasty warm and they were 75.00 compared to the 150-200 for Uggs.

If you have some nice resale shops near you (Plato's, etc) and are not super grossed out by buying footwear secondhand, they often have a lot of Uggs for decent prices, and they're all in nice condition. I bought my last 2 pairs secondhand (some tall brown lace-ups at Plato's and grey Cardis at a sample sale-type thing at my grad school) and was okay with it since I never wear uggs barefoot anyway. I probably wouldn't want to spend a whole lot if their main purpose would be for dog-walking--who knows what you'll end up stepping in while wearing them, LOL

I have tall chocolate and tall button up gray. I wear them both quite frequently and I absolutely love them! I probably wear the gray more often.
