Feelings about MODS and thread deletion
I 100% agree with the message thread regarding mod explanation below. The mods on this site are on such a power trip that they delete informative threads I have written. Do we have any recourse here, or should we find a different site that we are allowed to be candid on? All I did was explain to some people that secrets of several fraternities were hijacked and put on the wiki leaks website. Guess what, some mod who sits at home with nothing better to do, just keeps deleting them without any message or anything. I have not violated any terms of use, or the law etc. Whoever runs this site needs to keep mods accountable and their needs to be a process in which mods give an explanation OR where to delete it requires 3 mods to vote for it.
Why should we be censored for informative and intelligent conversations, doesn't that defeat the purpose of the site? I am very bothered with this, and I hope others have some Insight on this.
Is it wrong to be concerned to alert fraternity members that their ritual manuals have been compromised???
Please provide feedback!

There is nothing anyone can do about wikileaks, and GC chooses not to advertise it.

Mods have always taken great liberties with this site, but they can. So if you don't like it, go somewhere else.

I actually think your post should be deleted. We do not want information like that advertised.

I just wanted to say thank for being candid with an intelligent response which some of the other posting members obviously don't possess.

That was not my question, not a very intelligent answer and not a great welcome to the site, seems like this place is your whole life, 5,000 posts wow! You must feel better about yourself for posting this.

Thanks for responding I really appreciate it. What happened was a friend told me about these manuals being online. Since I am a intellectual property lawyer, I wanted to inform the community and offer free legal assistance to members of the affected organizations in terms of a demand letter and a filing with the copyright infringement bureau. I guess the links is where I went wrong? Just wanted to follow up with proof of what I was saying but I guess everyone already knows. I was frustrated that I kept getting deleted. Thanks

Apparently one group tried to send a cease and desist but it was just posted by the site as proof that what they had was real. The US govt can't keep them from posting government secrets, so not much sororities and fraternities have been able to do about this.

If you are a good lawyer you would contact the HQ of each group. Not some message board that is open to everyone.

I wonder what you had hoped to accomplish with posting about leaked rituals. To piss people off? It's not like individual members can do much of anything other then send angry letters. It is something their national HQ has to handle.
These things pop up every now and then- most of the leaked information is not new to the internet, and not new to wikileaks. If anyone wanted to find the ritual of some specific organization, I'm sure with a little google searching they can find it. Some rituals were even released due to the Freedom of Information Act.
I wouldn't call all rituals intellectual property either. Many organizations have similar rituals due to founding members connections with other organizations.
Your post should have been deleted. Your post wasn't novel, and other than trying to piss people off, it served no purpose.
Thanks for playing, try again!

Ooooh. Thanks for clarifying because upon reading your first post in this thread I thought the Starbucks barista had slipped me a special brownie...
What AOII_Angel says below is correct. We don't take legal action because that proves the authenticity to the document. They're not copyrighted because we we (speaking for my organization here, but assuming for others) don't want to share them to do so. Regardless, I think most organizations have taken the stance that leaked secrets don't devalue their meaning to members. The values we commit to are far more important than the ceremonies that explain them, an the exposure of those values does not alter our commitment to them.
