(The following is an excerpt from a recent press release (Feb. 10)by Ben Holbert, Omega's Director of Communications.)
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity announced the opening of the John H. Williams Historical Museum, located in the lower level of the Fraternity's World Center Headquarters in Decatur, GA. The museum features special exhibits, art, clothing, historical fraternal documents and a large permanent display showcasing the Fraternity's vast history. The museum is named in honor of John H. Williams, international photographer, and member of Nu Omega [graduate chapter of Detroit, MI]. For the past six decades, Williams has taken pictures of Omega men and recorded Fraternity events nationwide. For a tour contact the Omega Psi Phi International Headquarters at (404) 284-5533.
P.S. I saw this space before the collections were assembled and put in there. It's a large room with double glass doors and plush royal purple carpet--a truly museum-worthy or gallery-worthy space and not a cubby hole where you put mementos in old display case.
