119 years ago this week, there was a gathering of fraternity men and women at the Columbian Exposition (aka 1893 World's Fair) in Chicago. The event was called the Congress of Fraternities. This was in the days before NPC or NIC existed. Fraternity magazine exchanges provided limited opportunity for interaction between the groups on a national level. Although the event was not as extensive as first hoped, it did give fraternity members the opportunity to interact.
