I think the best part of recruitment is the tons of situations Potential New Members get themselves into.
I was a Rho Chi and on PH exec for 3 years and EVERY year a PNM would confuse herself with the chapters nicknames or the actual letters!
The best was last year when a serious PNM was all about Zeta Tau Alpha and she was lost in a sea of PNMs and couldn't find the ZTA bus, she asked me and I said "The Zeta bus is this bus" She freaked out and said in a scream "NO I NEED THE Z T A BUS!!!!!!"
So needless to say, I finally sat her down and explained what I meant to say and she was very happy.

I think the funniest thing that I've seen during rush is when I was on the Panhellenic Council. This PNM, as ecukd calls them, would get on the bus after a party and dial up one of her friends on her cell phone and tell her all about the sorority she just went to and then hang up when she got to another house and dial the girl right back up after the party. I think she did this for all four days of recruitment. We had a name for her but I can't remember it. She was the social butterfly of recruitment that year. Cute girl but a chatterbox.

Okay I have two of them and they are both about girls that went through rush while I was on "the other side".
One girl, on the first night was walking with through our house started talking about guys. She busts out with "Yeah and you know, I really think guys are so dumb. When they look at me I know what they want, if they would just ask I'd be like, yeah I'll lay you!" Okay I didn't laugh but I wanted to so badly!! Can you imagine??
The next one was about as good. The second round of parties this girl told me about her high school and how much she loved it, but she said she had been a trouble maker. Then she tells me about this one girl going through rush and how they were in high school together and how much she hated her. She told me "Yeah, one time I heard she was talking $H@# about me so I just walked up to her and straight up cold cocked the bit%# and my mamma was like, yeah you know she gets it for runnin her mouth." I found out later she wondered why we didn't ask her back. And the joke became, everytime someone did something crazy, "Watch out you make get cold cocked!"

Hey ZTAfairy! You are right! I forgot about cell phone girl. She was in the bathroom at a recruitment party talking to her Mom or something! she was wide open, but is a very productive member of AOPi now!
Panhellenic Exec was so eventful that I can't even remember it all!

A couple of years ago on the first night of rush a girl came in with a camera. She took the whole event as a photo op. She wanted pictures of the rooms, us and other rushees. It was very uncomfortable and needless to say she was dropped by the next night.

I know it sounds picky and snobbish but there are just certain things you don't do.
It's kind of like wearing a lot of purfume to an interview.....it's just distracting

Whoa! I've never heard of anyone bringing in a camera to pref. I don't blame you for dropping her!! No cameras of any kind were ever allowed during our Rush events. I think it was a Panhellenic rule on our campus.

I posted this a minute ago on another thread, but I'll say it here, too. One of our sisters accidentally got her hair too close to her candle during Pref several years ago. During the most serious part of the evening, too! Luckily, she put out the flame quickly and wasn't hurt at all. But it was VERY hard to keep a straight face while watching her!

Needless to say we didn't end up taking her for other reasons but she was quite the character.

LOL!!! Too much!! Well, at least it was hey, didn't I see you in that pageant, and not, hey, remember me from juvie?

Once I was talking to a rushee and one of my sisters came up to say hello and her shirt started tugging on the rushees earring. Turns out the rushee had just had a new piercing in the upper part of her ear.
Anyway, it started bleeding like crazy and I had to find the first-aid kit and nurse her back to health in the bathroom. (And you know what those bathrooms look like during rush, like it's a Miss Universe Pageant) I hated taking her in there but oh well.

It was very stressful at the time but now it is funny.

I am kinda new to this site, and so I didn't really get what was going on with somethinstupid right away...all I needed to do was go back and read all the retarded posts he/she/it did. Unbelievable and VERY rude. Can't the moderators cut people off based on which IP address they are coming from? I don't want to see this person continuing their cycle of stupidity!
