Let the controversy begin!!!!

Tennessee proves again why they can't win a big game. The Florida game was big but it wasn't as big as this. A chance to play for the title. Lol.

Anyways so who goes to the only bowl game that matters, the rose bowl? I say Colorado, I like controversy.

Nope, no way Colorado is going with 2 losses. I really like them too, but not this year. Nebraska, got their present today with Crouch's heisman. It's either going to be the voters going with the sentiment of Crouch's season or its going to go to the more deserving, although very boring Oregon team. The Pac 10 was tough and they beat a good WSu team. Also, unlike the Huskers, they won their conference title. Either way, whoever goes is going to be beaten silly by Miami.

Heh, Tommy Frazier...riiight. Its the age bias, no way Grossman was taking it this year, even though his starts are obscene. Besides, you know how voters are, he would have stood a much better chance if the Gators could have solidified the SEC, it would have been exciting to see the heisman youngun vs Miami but hey, S*%t happens.

Although, they should have reconsidered it and given it to the Hawaii QB, 20 tds in the last 3 games. Gotta bash BYU a little on this one 72 points? to a team playing out of the WAC? errrr....something not right here? So much for their BCS lawsuit.

Duke! Losing every game for three years in a row shows incredible consistency!
Now that's controversy.

Yeah, I'm a dork.

Say all the crap you guys want but deep down you know that Crouch deserved that award, plain and simple. Yes it will look like I'm a little biased, however if you look at the stats he is the best. He is so versital on the field he can run with the ball for long distances and score touchdowns more than MOST (and all the candidates) quarterbacks.

Yes, Nebraska had a SHITTY game against Colorado. However look at the other games they played this year and you will see why they deserve a chance to play for the National Championship. And if you didn't watch the games and follow Nebraska football...then don't say just because they lost a game and didn't play for the division championship means they shouldn't be given the chance to play.

FURTHERMORE...it REALLY urks me when people think Nebraska will get to play because of just one trophy that was one tonight. PUHLEASE...it's called TEAMWORK. Crouch doesn't make up the whole team and even HE admits that.

GO BIG RED!

Oh and please do tell me why you guys are comparing Tommy to Crouch...is it because of that FABULOUS run that probably was better than Tommy's????!!!!????

K, yep...the run was NOT better than Frazier's.
Second, yeah I do follow Husker Football and the Big 12 and the bottom line is , they were good for most of the season and ran into a Colorado team that they overlooked and comeon, they did, casue NO ONE saw that one coming. Not saying that the ONLY reason Nebraska could play for the champinship is that trophy, but, bottom line, virtually NO ONE in the media or the voters saw husker football in the same light saturday morning as they do this sunday morning. Hell, I had Neb- Miami as solid since midseason, and i do think they are a great team, but, them getting the nod over colorado after they had their asses kicked is just screaming to me that the BCS computers suck because its a numbers game, not a system based on who proves their shit on the field. I'd much rather see a miami - Neb or Miami-Colo game than a Miami-Oregon game though.

Weakest year for heisman ever I say. Andre Ware, toretta, desmon howard, now crouch. Nebraska, don't choke vs miami, lol. And no I am not bitter, but the best player didn't win. That is all.

It's a season of destiny

Okay, I agree with Hootie totally (mainly b/c she's right, and partly b/c I love Chi O's)

This is destiny if there ever was such a thing, i mean everything that had to happen did. I seriously don't know what the controversy is. Does anyone seriously think that Oregon or Florido, or even Miami would be able to beat Nebraska? The only one that really has a chance is Miami, and even then I think that their offense plays to Nebraska's strenghths. True, Colorado beat us, but only in one quarter, the rest of the game we outgained, outscored and outplayed CU.

As for Crouch, he was the only candidate that actually had soem defining plays this season. He had "the catch" and "the run" whle the rest of those guys just had similar throws for touchdowns. I'll agree that Tommie Frazier's run against Florida was better than Crouch's, Crouch's was still frickin' incredible and more impressive than anyone else this year. And as for Andre Ware, he went to a HS that is really close to mine, so I gotta support him, lol.

Well, all of yall will just have to watch us beat Miami in the Rose Bowl, and we'll see who is the best team in the Nation.

Yeah wouldn't that be something, some team beating Miami. I say Miami is #1 even if they lose to neb. As long as they don't lose by 26 that is.

So, how do you justify a team that didn't win its' league championship -- or even its' division playing for the National Championship?

The other consideration is strength of schedule. Back to the days of Bob DeVaney, Nebraska has always played the Little Sisters of the Poor and the like in the non conference season.

Sorry, but if Nebraska goes to the Championship game instead of Colorado or Oregon -- that's a real mistake and gives a real boost to the national playoff supporters.

And I agree, I think the Heisman pool was a little shallow this year.

DAH

Who cares who is playing in the BIG BOWL GAME as long as it is BIG 12 TEAM!

My Gorrilas lost to NDU! NOT LOST, GOT THEIR BUTTS WAXED!

It could have been the Big 9 if those dumb assed Arkies had come to the Big 8 instead of the SEC! They were the only team in the SWC not from Texas.

The Big 12 has what 6 teams in Bowl games ?

wow the bcs sure looked like a joke today. No offense big red fans but since when does a team that doesn't even win their half of the confrernce let alont the big 12 make it to the finals? Illinios, Maryland, Oregon, and Colorado all have claims too.

Lets have an 8 team playoff. It would go like this, with the same bcs tie ins and 2 at large teams....

#1 Miami vs #8 Lsu
#2 Nebraska vs #7 Maryland
#3 Colorado vs #6 Illinois
#4 Oregon vs #5 Florida

I am not an Oregon fan so I cannot speak on behalf of them. But as far as Colorado getting the bid to the National Championship OVER Nebraska...puhlease. Sure, we lost to them, however we also had 1 season loss and they had 2. So yes, we didn't win our Big 12 Championship game (we didn't even get to play in it)...but does it mean that they should go on with 2 losses when Nebraska had only 1?!?!? Kinda a catch 22 if you ask me!
