Favorite Christmas Gift(s)?
I celebrated with my mom last weekend and received some cool gifts...
She bought me a frame for my University of Michigan diploma that was half yellow, excuse me maize, and half blue that had two photographs of the school and a UM logo.
I also got my favorite Victoria's Secret perfume.
My brother and sister-in-law bought me a pair of boots that I wanted.

My boyfriend got me an awesome cycling jersey last year for us to do the MS 150 together. I have a feeling he's getting me a heart rate monitor this year, which I am REALLY psyched about!
my mom makes these awesome purses and she made me a really cute one last year that I use all the time.

You have to find out where she got that frame. I still haven't framed mine and it's just chillin in the kitchen.
Good gifts.... a tv with dvd and vcr. Digital camera. I think I might be getting dance dance revolution and karaoke revolution this year. I've gotten some pretty good gifts every year.
The best one? Being born 2 weeks after Christmas. A good thing and a bad thing.... Bad because I stopped getting birthday presents in my teens because of Christma. Good- because I was due Christmas week which would have sucked even more.

There are a ton of places that offer them and they are all pretty much the same. Usually you can find them in your college bookstore also.

A gift to love...
We got ours... (references to the thread "prayers for mr. sagesofages")
A sincere and truly remorseful apology from our son to his family for the hurt and tears caused this last 10 days, an admission that he truly does have a problem with substance abuse, and the acknowledgement of transgression previously committed to the judge.
He plead guilty to the lesser of the three charges against him, with the theft charge held over until January 4. The judge released him to our custoday and to a day treatment program, so our son is home at least for Christmas.
Saddly without the cooperation of the other perpetrators, we will not be able to recover items that were pawned at this time.
So we have a smaller Christmas, just for the children...
I have my spousal unit, I have my children, a house to live in and relatively secure employment (in today's world that is a lot!)

this year, my boss got me this candle that is gold and glittery, and it's obviously from her basement and over five years old, because it's made "exclusively for target" but yet has no tags that target has used in the past five years (i should know; i used to work there) and the gold part is chipping off and crumbling away.
oh wait, this is the favorite gifts thread, not the "what the heck were they thinking?" thread

One year when I was in high school I got skis. I put it on my list, but never thought my parents would spring for it. I actually opened the binding fist, and I was like, ummmm, WTF???? That was one of the best years, because I was sooooo shocked.

This wasn't my best gift ever, but it was the first gift that my mom got me that wasn't crap and made me feel like she was accepting of something that was part of me....
When I was in college I would tan. She nagged me about how bad it is for me for a long time, how I shouldn't go, etc. Then, for Christmas one year, she got me this gift set of indoor tanning lotions, after-tan body lotions and other tanning-related items. It was simple, something I liked and would use, and like I said it made me feel like she was finally paying attention to what I did like instead of what she thought I should like.
As far as pure materialism goes, I really liked the diamond necklace Mr. AXiD670 got me for Christmas last year.
