At least you are in Socal and not smack dab in the middle of cornfields in Southern Illinois like myself. I too miss Texas after living in San Antonio for 6 years and spring breaking in So. Padre. More so I miss Socal and Phoenix after taking two trips out there this year. I think I was born a Southwest, West Coast, Socal girl.
Someday, I'll get back there ...
Until then I'll be dreaming.

I love Texas...unfortunately I am moving in 6 months though. One day I will be back. It'll be at least 5 years though. But right now I am enjoying being here. Had some yummy Mexican food today.
And the weather today, typical. At 4pm when I went into the place I teach, it was sunny and hot. Less than one hour later, I walk out to find my next student and I look out and it is so foggy that I asked if there was a building on fire. Visibility was like zero! Very strange!!!!!

Where on the strip is the concert at? We ended up going out to Skybar and Red Rock when we were in LA. Gosh, I miss Cali so much. I have been all up and down the East Coast and Midwest, but for some reason something about me fell in love with Socal _ Hollywood, Santa Monica, the beaches, the hills, the desert, Palm Springs, Newport Beach, Balboa ... Rodeo Drive, UCLA, Venice Beach, Huntington Beach .....
Okay, I am done digressing.
As I said, someday I'll go back there ...

I know I should do this under some kind of alias, but what the hell...
Someone told me that they were going to cut Alaska in half and make Texas the third largest state...
Was in SoCal last week. Dinner at Gladstones. Will be in San Antonio next week.

As much as I dont get along with my biogenic defective younger Brother, there are 3 of his exs there!
the only thing I know about Texas is Steers and Qu#&$@S! Well that ought to get the Gay Community stirred up!

No, I am sorry don't know him. I went to grade school at St. Lukes Catholic, now I am 22. I lived there a while ago.
Amycat:

I love SoCal too . I really hope to go there for college next fall. And if I do, that would be GREAT, since all my top-choices are there (not pure coincidence, either, I'm sick of NorCal!). Also, you should come up to Northern Cali (though I just said I'm sick of it haha ), it's beautiful, too. Like San Fran, the Napa Valley, Carmel, and Santa Cruz. Just wonderful. Plus Tahoe and Mt. Shasta. There's no smog like in SoCal, but the weather isn't as warm. I'm purely a hot-weather, city girl so Los Angeles would be perfect for me !
I hope you find a dream job that will bring you to Cali, Rhonda!!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: while im on....Texas is on my mind
There is a 24 hr firness rt. by my place of work at 183 and Great Hills Tr-I was thinking of joining since it is 24 hrs and I work at night plus it is just down the street-does he work at this one? I went to A&M and graduated in 97. UT is a very good school. SWTS is ok but not as well respected (tougher admittance into UT but I think SWTS has increased their requirements for admittance since I graduated from HS in 90) but has gained more respect. I guess it depends on what you want to study also.
Round Rock is cheaper to live in but definitely not very pretty. Not many people can afford to buy a house in Austin so they will buy one in RR /Cedar Park or Georgetown.
Being from San Antonio, lived in College Station for 7 years and have had many friends in Houston/Dallas, I think Austin is the prettiest city in Texas (maybe that is why the movie stars like to have houses here-it lools like a mini Hollywood to me without the hype) Will this be your first summer in Texas?? If so get ready they usually are scorchers.

I have yet to visit either places in Texas but will be there soon someday. Where do you go to school? I'm so not up to par with the mascots except the Long Horns of UT! Can't hear enough about them...but then again I'm a Cornhusker so he'll have a tough time too!
