Alum looking to revitalize chapter
My girls have lost their "zing!" Actually, the whole greek community on campus has. What are some ways I can help my girls revitalize everyone but not spend a ton of money?

welcome bethast. you will find lots of info. here at greekchat. come on over to the greeklife forum when you can.
things to think about now-what does the chapter do now in the way of sisterhood events? does the chapter have a house? letting us know what the chapter's situation is and what activities they already do will help us help you.

If the OP has not already done so, I recommend that the OP puts forth this effort of explaining and talking to other alum and members in real life. They may have a vision or representatives in the area who have some ideas.
As do many GCers, I have a lot of experience with alum trying to revitalize chapters. It can go well and it can go horribly. It sometimes fails miserably when alum show up with suggestions if they have not already talked to the chapter, other alum, and National/regional/district/local representatives to see whether their effort is welcome.

Do THEY feel they are zingless? Have they asked for your help? If you can't answer yes to either if those, leave them alone. You are an alum, and you had your chance to run your chapter. How would you have felt as a collegiate if your advisor told you that your chapter was too boring?

If she is an advisor, she has probably already done this. Seeking advice outside her sorority may give her fresh ideas that will revitalize the chapter she hopes to help. NPC sororities share and swap ideas all the time and bethAST appears to be a member of a NPC sorority.

Advisor or not, NPC or non-NPC, the time that she spends explaining to Greekchat could be invested in talking to the non-GC people that she has access to. She needs to determine whether this chapter truly wants and need this assistance.

GC can be a very valuable place if properly utilized. There's no need for her to reinvent the wheel. The experience available here is unlike anything you'll encounter elsewhere.
I'll agree with the other posters that us fixing the "zing" problem is going to require a bit of a better defined problem.
As for phired up, they came to our campus. I've received positive feedback about them from our undergrad brothers.

We have no idea if the chapter truly is in any trouble, or if the OP just is having a case of "things were sooooooo much better when I was in school."
Yes they were....but I'm sure there was also an alum saying the same thing when the OP was in school.
If the school has fundamentally changed the type of student it markets to - i.e. if they could care less if the whole campus becomes a ghost town at 3 PM Friday because everyone goes home for the weekend - the first thing you have to do is start voting with your pocketbook and voicing your concerns as an alumnus to the administration. Expecting college students to turn that around all on their own is unrealistic.

There is a reason why aspirants and members of NPHC GLOs, for instance, tend to be directed elsewhere.
