Towson University
My niece just accepted a place at Towson, and since my brother never went Greek, she has asked me about sorority recruitment.
I have had a look at the Towson Greek Life web page, but it doesn't really give out a great deal of information, and I was wondering if any of you can shed some light for me?
Do the chapters at Towson have houses or chapter rooms?
Are recs important or even needed?
Does any one have any numbers? Girls that place etc?
She's so excited already, and I just hope she finds her dream chapter, just like I did with Kappa

I currently live in MD and we have had a few women ask our Alumnae Panhellenic for recommendations in the past for recruitment at Towson. I apologize if you have, but was not sure if you saw this part of the website?
They do have deferred recruitment. Hope that helps a bit!

I was an adviser for the AOII chapter at Towson until I moved to PHX two years ago. Since then, AEPhi has come on, and they moved formal recruitment to the spring. Their are no houses or chapter rooms at Towson. Chapters meet at the Towson Union and get together a lot at members' apartments. Chapter average is now at 75 according to irishpipes list (it was over that when I was there). Recs are NOT important at all, and in the time I was there I can't remember seeing any except in the case of legacies. That being said, it never hurts, right?! It is not a competitive recruitment (there are, of course, a few groups that every one wants and some girls may drop out if they don't get them) and the vast majority of women get bids. This is not the South! With recruitment being in the spring now, she needs to be careful about her reputation. Meet sorority women. Towson is a small community.
