Help on paddles

Ok so I'm making my big her paddle for her graduation gift.

So far, I have our letters, the semester she crossed, her nickname, her line name, the school, the semester she graduated, and her line number.

My friend and I are having this debate about which names are used when putting big sis/little sis on paddles.

My family tree is: Mary (my gbig) > Charlotte (my big) > Lilly (me)

Is it:
Big Sis
[Charlotte] - recipient
Little Sis
[Lilly] - recipient's little/giver

Or is it:

Big Sis
[Mary] - recipient's big
Little Sis
[Lilly] - recipient's little

My sis Misty says its the last one, but I thought it was the first one. So we are a little confused. I have everything on the front done and on the back I'm painting on our poem plus the big sis little sis on there and maybe paint our family tree as well (any suggestions on if this is a good idea for the back would be really appreciated )

You're right. It wouldn't make sense for your big to have a paddle commemorating your relationship without her name on it.

This is really a question for the more senior members of your organization. For what it's worth, if I'm giving a fraternity gift to someone, it will have my name listed somewhere (like option 1).

The former is right. There is no reason to put your grand big's name on your big's paddle.

Perhaps there is in her organization. This is definitely one of those one-size doesn't fit all situations.

Well we don't traditionally do paddles except to give to our littles as an initiation gift. We decorate it with just their names and the school, chapter, class, nickname, line name and present it to them once they are sisters.

So we have never had any standard rules for how to make paddles for other occasions

If there aren't any rules, do whatever you feel like doing on it. I'm sure either way would be appreciated.

With that being the case, she probably already has one with her big's (your gbig) name on it. So it would make sense to make one representing your relationship with her.
