U of Denver
I have a friends dd going through recruitment at Denver. Question, the schedule shows 6 parties for round one, but only 5 NPC chapters are on campus. Is chi omega doing an intro round? I read that they are colonizing in the springl. I know very little about colonization, but do rec letters ever help if a girl is interested? And if so when should they be sent? Thanks!

I'm not sure about the parties. Looking at the schedule, I almost wonder if they have staggered parties so that the PNM groups are smaller.
Recruitment for Chi Omega is in January. Bid day is tentatively around January 20th. Rec letters don't hurt with a colonization. So if you wanted to send in a letter December or early January should work.

scrapcat -- A Chi Omega alumna can write an on-line rec letter on our website. It will go straight to the University of Denver Recruitment Advisor (after being signed by the Area Recruitment Information Coordinator).

Thanks for all the great info. My friend is a non-greek in every way and has absolutely no clue what's to come! (I think our boss is a Chi Omega!)

For the colonization of Chi Omega at Denver, the XO website states:
If you have questions about the DU colonization process or would like to recommend a woman at DU for Chi Omega membership, please contact our Director of Extension at the Executive Headquarters, Amanda Getschman, at AGetschman@ChiOmgea.com.

My co worker stopped in today - rush starts tonight. Her dd has a great " lets see if I fit" attitude and seems to understand the process. She's not "hell bent" on being Greek, but finds the rewards and perks of membership to be a big draw. Here's hoping she has a great time!

I'm an advisor at DU. We do 6 parties for round 1 to make party sizes smaller for chapters. Today, round 2, will have 5 parties even though PNM's will only go to 4, so that party sizes are more manageable for chapters. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Well, the co-workers dd got all caught up in the fun, and really liked what she saw! After first rounds she was cut from one house, really liked two, sorta liked one but couldn't mesh with the fourth. By pref she was down to two, both well liked. On bid day she became a ....
