Greek Week
Hey everyone, Just wondering if you guys have had your greek week yet? We just began ours at Slippery Rock University, PA. Just curious who usually wins Greek Week at your school, Fraternity and Sorority? Just to let you know my fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha has won it 3 times a row and hopefully again. Our rankings right now is this:
1.Sigma Tau Gamma
2.Pi Kappa Alpha
3.Kappa Delta Rho
4.Theta Xi
5.Pi Kappa Phi
6.Phi Kappa Theta
7.Alpha Sigma Phi
I'm not sure how the sororities are doing but I belive the Delta Zeta's are winning so far.

Glad to hear that DZ is doing well on your campus. We won it 5 years straight on mine! I know it's a little cocky, but one year the shirts we had made for Greek Week said on the back "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how many times you win."

Our greek week is right now too. Usually either AZD or Sigma wins for the sororites and TKE or Sigma NU win for the fraternities. So far we are in 5th place I think but we have only had one day and out strongest events are later this week. GO GO ALPHA GAM!!!

haha I like that idea for shirts. My fraternity always does horrible at Greek Sing. Its the only event that we don't place in. If we win again for Greek Week our shirts are going to say "We don't dance to give other fraternities a chance"

Well our greek week is right now, and KD and AGR have won Greek week for forever, but I think Farmhouse is going to win this year, they are REALLY strong. And AOPi is making a run for the top. Just out of curiosity, does anyone else have tug of war like ours here? People start practicing months in advanced and the semester before they are workingout and doing weight training. It is crazy!!!!!

haha! Sounds like the Pikes from my school. It was extremely rare for them to participate in the Greek Step Show. Although one year they did a lip sync/dance routine to the Animal House theme song. One of our sisters helped them put it together. It was hilarious! Everytime I hear that song now, I think of them.

This week we are having our Greek Week on campus as well. This is the first time that we have held greek week here in a while, for various reasons. Its been going pretty well so far, so we hope to continue it in the future.

My fave fraternity Greek Sing songs (for hilarity valus): "YMCA" (complete with costumes) and "My Ding-A-Ling."
If you youngsters don't know the second one, just let me say that it got a little bad.

LOL these are fun to read
Right now we are in the middle of Greek Week. Theta is on top, as of now, I'm happy to say!!!! Pike is on top for now for the fraternities.
Historically, Theta and XO usually win Greek Week for the sororities...for the fraternities: SAE, Pike, EX, and Sigma Phi Epsilon have all won multiple times in the past decade...
Oh yes, about the tug-of-war...about 2 weeks before Greek Week--I saw a bunch of fraternity guys in a Health Club--mostly EX's, SAE's, and Pikes, and they were trying to lift the heaviest weights LOL...my sorority also went there to get in "buffer shape" for the tug-of-war.

We're toward the top right now - we pulled 2nd for my banner design; stayed up all night w/ that piece of junk. Our theme SUCKS - "Music and Musicians", basically it's a boyband-a-thon . . . so our banner was the *nsync logo, replaced w/ *ksygs . . . lame, but not a whole lot else you could do. Hopefully, we pull it out - we've won greek week 3 years in a row, can't break tradition!

Hey everyone, just to let all of you know, Sigma Tau Gamma won greek week for the fraternities (We'll get em next year)and Delta Zeta won it for the sororities. In a week the greeks here raised seven thousand dollar to make a wish so a little girl could go to Disney World. I hear its really cool, these kids get to go to Disney World and go to "Wish land" where they don't have to wait in line for anything and everything is centered around the person. Its really cool and makes us feel good inside so we could grant one wish to a little kid. Just informing you guys to spread positive news to greeks! Good luck to the rest of you during greek week! GO PIKES!

I have an old greek week program from USC. 1989. lordy I'm getting old, ha ha. I'll try to scan it in and email it to you this week, if you're interested--it has a day by day breakdown of events as well as a history of greek week.

I miss the old days! Last year I was supposed to be Christina Aguilara and when I bent over I ripped my pants during our dance!!! Luckily only I noticed while we had the floor!
