So... Chocolate
I didn't know where to post this.
I went shopping for my little today, not knowing what Tree Nuts were. Dumb move since she is allergic to them. Apparently almonds are tree nuts and Hershey's chocolate bars are, of course, produced on lines that may have also come into contact with almonds. Do you all know of a chocolate that doesn't have this problem? Someone with a tree nut allergy? I just kinda don't want to poison her and she loves chocolate.

For what it's worth, the girl I babysit and her mother are both very allergic to tree nuts and they eat mainstream chocolate. They eat lots of products that are made on the same line as products with tree nuts, now that I think about it.
As long as it doesn't actually have tree nuts in it, it is most likely okay. If you can get the other chocolate here in time, however, that would be the safest option.

It depends on how allergic someone is and this can be a Dangerous allergy for people that react with breathing problems.
I know Sharffenberger chocolates for a long time had lines with no nuts - Check out Cost Plus World Market for Eureopean chocolates.

Thank you everyone. I am going to look into the ones that don't have any possibility of cross-contamination. I asked her marching band big if she knew anything (they were also in the same section and had section parties), but she doesn't know how severe. I think it is better just to be safe. I don't think accidentally harming her would be too nice of a welcome.

Scharffen Berger has been owned by Hershey since 2005, they also snapped up Dagoba.
Theo Chocolate is really good, you can probably find a local seller via their website www.theochocolate.com I am a huge fan of the curry & coconut, as well as the fig and fennel (that has almonds). I'm also biased with my local confectioner www.cowgirlchocolates.com
