This is membership selection info, please refer to your national org for guidelines. If you and your sisters want to adjust the national criteria for your needs that's your business, but an online message board really isn't the place for it. Good luck!

So my question is, what does your chapter look for in a PNM, honestly? I know every chapter is different, so not every chapter should look for the exact same things, but I just wanted to get an idea of what others look for. Thanks!
No one will answer this for you here. Membership selection details shouldn't be posted on the internet. Talk to an advisor. Beyond that, you should talk to National Staff members to plan out a system that works for your chapter.

Good luck!

There's really no way that anyone here can give you a list of what to look for.

If your org lacks national direction on the necessary/ideal qualities a NM in your organization should have, take a look at your ritual, your creed, your purpose, etc. Make a list of specific qualities mentioned. Some chapters focus more on GPA, others like to see a resume filled with community service activity, and still others might look for certain personality traits.

If your org lacks specifics on how to choose members (throwing darts at photos, playing eenie-meenie-minee-mo, using numerology or horoscopes), talk to your advisors, other chapters and alumnae. What have you been doing in the past? (Rhetorical question.)

Your national organization should have some specifics that have to be followed about certain tangible things (GPA, for example). Most if not all groups do have something specifying what intangible qualities NMs should have. How each chapter interprets those qualities is where things differ.

From your previous posts, it sounds as though your chapter may not have been using the standardized system that your GLO has in place. If an advisor isn't around or helpful, it should be laid out in your policy manual.

I'm surprised this hasn't brought out the snarky! I was thinking of some funny responses, but decided better not, since they weren't THAT funny.

As my sorority is a Hot Barbie Chapter we look for hotness. Looks. Looks. Looks. You can be a total airhead with the personality of an eggplant but if you are hot you get a bid.
