Very cool idea. Living in the Middle East now, and the Midwest before (both with wide open spaces and BORING drives), being able to fly that 2 hour drive in 30 minutes or so, without having to check in and wait and deal with disembarkation afterward, if you're a rich guy on a tight schedule, that amount of money seems like a no-brainer.
Actually, the more I think about it, it's pure genius for the Middle East. Going from Dubai to Muscat, Riyadh, Qatar, Bahrain, are all within 3-8 hours drive but a nuisance because of either the water or the desert getting in your way. And many many people could afford the cost of this vehicle no questions asked. To put this cost in perspective, it is less than the cost of a Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls, Maybach, Lamborghini... there are a lot of cars out there that cost more than this, and they don't FLY. And the plane/car gets better gas mileage than any on the most expensive cars list. Seriously, by more than double.
