Thoughts on "Super 8"?
Entertaining movie that combined ET, The Goonies, Close Encounters, and a little bit of Alien all thrown into the blender, and voila - a Spielberg formula that parents will take their kids to see.
Thoughts?

I really enjoyed the first quarter or so...but then it went downhill. Didn't hate it, didn't love it.

I thought it was great. If you went in thinking it would be ET made all over again, realize ET has already been made...you'd be disappointed with the original at this point. The child actors were very good. The story was sweet and touching. The suspense was just right. I jumped in my seat several times. Could it have been a little better? Yeah, but there are few movies that can't.

I enjoyed this move I liked seeing a movie with a story line not just action packed nothingness.

Son saw it; I didn't. He really liked it -- said he'd consider buying on blu-ray, which is high praise for him.

I thought it was excellent. It made me miss a lot of things about the 80s.

I did too.
Saw it last night. Some things I liked, others, not so much.
I agree the child actors were good. The adults, blah. My favorite part? The Case. THat was awesome.
