Football Stickers?
Does your chapter make stickers to wear/hand out to fraternity men for football games?
For example, "XYZ loves School Mascot!" on some type of sticker.
If so, I'd love to see what you all use! :]
Thanks!

We made a shirt that had a football helmet, with one of the fraternities on campus. It was the school colors, with the phrase "Get your game face on!" Only members of one of the organizations could have it, though, because it had letters. If I can find a picture I'll post it.

We don't, cuz we're a fraternity, but I have tons of 'em stuck to my dresser and such. When I get up to my parents house, I can take some pictures on my cell phone.

This is very popular on the Arkansas campus. I would say all sororities have them for every game and pass them on to parents, dates, etc to wear to the football games. (EW - you need to save those stickers for posterity!)

Something I've noticed:
A lot of the stickers use hearts instead of the word love, but they put:
XYZ [picture of a heart] 's School Mascot," but should there be an apostrophe there?
Hopefully, this makes sense. Thanks.

No, there should not be an apostrophe.

I'm guessing people think it looks weird without the apostrophe. Which is does, a little. The same way, even though I KNOW it's incorrect, I can't help but tell people I got all "A's." Apostrophe shouldn't be there, but otherwise I think it looks like As.

So, then the question is...should the apostrophe be used or not?

An apostrophe indicates either the possessive or the omission of letters in a contraction. It can be acceptable to use it to indicate a plural if (and only if) doing so avoids confusion; primarily, this occurs with the plurals of lower-case letters, as in "mind your p's and q's" or "dot all your i's and cross all your t's." (Otherwise, i's would look like is.) While it could also happen with the situation angels&angles mentioned if "As [A's]" comes at the beginning of a sentence, the capital A in the middle of a sentence should be enough to avoid confusion.
There is no risk of misunderstanding or misreading with a heart symbol. Use of an apostrophe in that case reads "heart's" (or "love's").
So no, the apostrophe should not be used. . . at least not by people who are in the process of getting a college education. Be the chapter that knows better.

Nope.
Whenever I went to Bama games with friends I had a sorority sticker slapped on me (and not my letters, because I didn't know anyone in my own organization on that campus). I don't think I was ever asked if I wanted to wear one.

Makes sense! I think maybe putting the "s" slightly smaller and near the top right side of the heart will make it look alright.
Thanks for your help.
